Taycan CT4 2022, RR P400e LWB 2018 "fully loaded"

I ordered a CT4 with 30 k in options (quite similar like Ambroos configuration). For my use and my preferences I prefer a CT4 with more options than a less optioned CT 4S. It will be my daily driver and I know that I will enjoy full leather, Bose, RWS, seat ventilation and massage more than fast accelerations. But I can imagine if the Taycan is a second or third car one can prefer a 4S with less options.
Same here, CT4 with almost full options. Very Happy still after 5 months and 10k km.

Air Suspension
I had a chance to test drive a RWD without Air Suspension and can tell you, that with Air Suspension the car is much more comfortable - you get almost a carpet ride!

Noise Insulated Glass with Privacy
We hat a Model S for one year before the Taycan and you dont´t need the Noise Insulated Glass. I have it in my Panamera and we skipped it in the wifes Taycan. My car is very very quiet and the Taycan is minimally louder, hardly perceptible - it can also be attributed to the generally better insulation of the Panamera.

Black partial leather with colour matching trim and Aluminium accents
In a price range of your order I would definitely go for the Full Leather option. You will love it. And it smells so nice.

Surround View
You will not get a better rear camera with the Surround View (!!) The Surround View is nice, but also very very bad in the Taycan - an not worth the money. We only took it because it probably paid for itself after the first scratch on the rim.

Driver memory package
I had a chance to test drive a RWD with the standard seats and do not recommend them. Please take the 14-way - The seats are one of the most important options in the car - you feel the car very differently with good ones.

Passenger Display
Would skip this, you and your wife will not use this. It's a waste of money.

Performance Battery
Depends on your driving profile.

Hi all, after days of reading & thinking I’ve ordered a ST RWD. My dealer in the UK had 2 new cars ready for June but I want my custom build so I’ll be waiting probably until Q3 this year.

Here is my build: http://www.porsche-code.com/PNSHXZN5

The reason I went for ST RWD over CT4 is that I don’t want to wait the long queue for the CT4, which is estimated for Q1 next year. Otherwise I guess I like the looks of CT even better.

I currently own a Tesla M3 and this will be my first ever Porsche. I know I am sacrificing performance but Porsche is a childhood dream for me so I don’t really care much :)

So in the end I’ll be paying over 18k for the options in a base model. This is literally 25% of the car’s actual price. I am not buying this car to sell soon, but tell me please, am I overdoing it? How is Porsche market in general? What’s the usual common sense in this? Is it too much to add options worth 1/4 of a base car’s actual value.

And not to mention I’m still eyeing truffle interior + sports sound + chrono so it can go even up. It is dangerously endless :)

Ice grey metallic
I was getting a Frozen Blue, wasn’t even thinking about ice grey but then one day I saw this live on the road and that was it. Beautiful - case closed :)

Air Suspension
I am still in between. If the ride is more comfortable I’ll take it, but if it is only for adjusting the ride height then I don’t think I’m keen.

Noise Insulated Glass with Privacy
Coming from Model 3, I know how noisy it can get inside an EV, ironically because it is too quiet so it lets everything in. The music quality deteriorates and we have to speak in higher tones inside the cabin to hear each other. That’s one thing I really don’t like about Model 3 so that’s why I’m opting this option. I don’t want a noisy cabin.

Black partial leather with colour matching trim and Aluminium accents
I think I like partial leather enough. Accent package and aluminium to spice things up in a cost effective way.
Surround View
I heard the rear camera is poor, so opted in for surround view.

Folding & dimming mirrors
These should be standard in any car above 30k

Black exterior trims
Door handles and model designation because it looks cool and feels more customised :)

Driver memory package
Just got it for the curb side assistance. Still thinking about 14 way seats instead.

ACC
For long trips I might use it, and it future proofs the car to some extent for other updates.

Passenger Display, Performance Battery and Glass Roof
Wife approval factor
My Porsche dealer says official Porsche availability is CTs all 2023 as you say but 2WD ST is 4th quarter 2022. With all the uncertainty you might get the car you want at roughly the same time. Wait for a CT. Better value as battery, air suspension and 4WD included in list price so retained value means more expensive to buy but CHEAPER to own.

Cheap essentials are mirrors and driver memory.
Agree 100% with WINGE everything except I never missed steer plus or surround view but accept they are useful and definitely not a waste of money!
Unlike…….
Beware inside tarting up! Rhombus etc.
Standard interior is immaculate.
Don’t need passenger screen, Chrono, ambient or noise!
Don’t bother with insulating glass.
Much quieter than a Tesla.
You can hear a flea trapped inside your Taycan farting at 100mph.
I never minded base stereo. It’s not great but I have been disappointed by Bose.
Saved you loads of money!
You can buy me a pint!
Finally this might an option to save a bit more…?

Can you explain what driver memory is? Many thanks!

No problem. Driver memory pack is a £273(?) option in UK for the base 8 way seats.
3 memory settings for drivers seat and incidentally dips rear view mirrors in reverse to stop kerb clipping.
Great value if not going 14/18 (and you don’t ‘need’ to) and more than one driver or for when it goes back to Porsche dealer for the monthly Ctl Alt Del sessions.
(You get 3 memory settings both sides with 14 way or 18 way) but passenger side memory settings seem superfluous to me. It’s your driving position you don’t want to have to constantly readjust after your valet guy has moved the seat!
I don’t feel you need to upgrade much of the interior. People love to but I like minimalism. The ONLY thing that makes a Taycan feel really cheap to me is no memory settings for drivers seat!
The other thing is the NON Auto Dimming rear view mirror but I think you get Auto dim as standard on all Taycans in US.

Hi, good that you’re getting a waiting time until q3 this year. I’ve been told q3 next year for a base model. Which Porsche centre did you go through?

Tonbridge, Norwich, Sussex all estimated Q3 this year. South London even had 2 cars ready for June but I wanted to configure my own. I am talking about Sport Turismo base model btw not the saloon. It is interesting your centre is estimating 1 year longer wait than the others.

Coil springs are great and that is with 21” wheels. This forum is divided 50/50. People with springs say they are great. People with air say it is great. Personal choice. You certainly do not need air for speed bumps.

The Taycan is not noisy. It is not a plastic rattle Tesla box. Don’t need the glass. I love music and there is no issue with normal glass. It is very quiet inside. My issue with the sticky glass is in a crash it cannot be smashed easily to remove the occupants.

Driver memory. Who else is going to drive it?

Battery yes

I specced the glass roof. It is amazing. Unfortunately a waste of money as the driver does not benefit. Next time I probably won’t bother. I live on a dreary rainy island. The light benefit is few and far between.

You should definitely get the HUD display. My eyes are on the road 100% of the time. Love it.

I would also strongly recommend 360 view park assist. It is a big car and you will destroy your wheels parallel parking.

I wish I got rear assist steering in hindsight given how much parallel parking I do.
