Vesuvius gray is a paint, not a powder coat, as far as I can tell on OEM. Despite that, powder coat is what I use for all my jeep beadlocks and is more durable than paint, so if you are happy with the gray shade, I fully support powder coating. I can't fathom bothering to ceramic coat my wheels. Just enjoy them. If you paint them though, the OEM is a satin clear, not gloss or matte.

The Porsche version is indeed painted.

I'm not a big fan of brake dust and read that the ceramic helps keep it from sticking. I think I'll try it and see for myself!

Oh that may be true. I have full ceramics --- they have no dust.

With mine painted black, I’ve never noticed any brake dust.

Plus we don’t really use the friction brakes that much anyways.

The industry average determination is that powder coating is 8-10 times stronger in resisting rock chips than is OEM paint. But like anything aftermarket, one needs to do significant research to determine that the powder coating firm you are planing to use is A grade.

I have had three sets of wheels powder coated and every one turned out to not only look excellent, but were all super durable and looked great after tens of thousands of miles.

The final positive about powder coating is that there are literally 6,000+ colors, including should you want many hundreds of metallics.
