Do you have brand info and some photos? I'd possibly prefer a clip in versus window film.

Here’s what I got on eBay and a couple of pics. I can’t attest to the resilience if you plan on putting it in and removing it frequently. Pretty lightweight and not real taut (a bit of sag in the middle ~2” when installed). Still, blocks the sun quite well and the color blends with the headliner.

Not much of an issue up here in NY but if my Taycan Turbo was at my FL residence I would install photochromatic sunlight control film. Easy to install or remove by a professional and relatively inexpensive

I haven’t seen any quality products for automotive glass like there are for flat glass in residential/commercial buildings. Are you aware of any specific products? I would love to replace my screen with something automatic.

Gino - I know from your posts yu plan on keeping the Taycan a long time - take a look at this - I have used Spectra Photosync in another location (Dubai) and it worked very well.... I think I used IR 30....

I’m actually pretty happy with the physical screen I bought for the glass roof which blocks out 90% of all light but may consider something like this window tint for only the roof section.
I am not concerned about temperature just the incredibly bright sunlight when driving to Las Vegas during the day. I would be reluctant to use any film which would attenuate cellular signals inside the vehicle because I live on my phone 24/7 as I always work remotely with clients.
The only option I have in my CPO that I would have not selected is the glass roof. I would have gone with the solid metal roof. That being said I do enjoy the small amount of light that comes through the removable screen I installed. I never leave the vehicle in the sun for more than an hour or two for the most part so heat buildup is not an issue for me but I’m wondering if I simply were to use the highest blocking film such as the 55 for the roof panel only and not the rear window if that would reduce the AC load but not significantly attenuate cell signals inside in the front seats area?
This may be a happy medium where I get some additional light but not so much that it becomes tiring on a long drive constantly squinting because of the sun coming through the glass roof especially when you are driving toward the sun at 11am to 1pm and the light is not blocked by my sunglasses but enters my eyes from above as I look straight ahead at the road in front of me.
The screen is very effective compared to no screen but maybe these films could give me an option in between that allows the roof panel to be used to actually see out without too much light getting in.
It was great at night but during the day on long drives it was just too much.
I was hoping there might be an automatic tint like a photo grey lens which darkens in sunlight but goes away at night. This would be perfect for my needs but not sure if it exists (yet)…
Thanks for the ideas!

I just looked it up and there are are photochromic window films available which automatically darken in sunlight.
I think this is what the previous post from Sharp33 was referring to.
I think this may be the answer for me to use the darkest photo chromic film on the roof glass only and leave all the other windows alone. In effect I’d be buying a pair of photo grey sunglasses for my Taycan glass roof!

I had it installed afterwards — it's super convenient and really cool!
There's a light sensor switch on the windshield. When the sunlight is too strong, it automatically darkens for shading.
Once the light dims, it returns to clear on its own. Of course, it also supports manual adjustment by zone.

Who makes this aftermarket automatic sun shade? What is the cost? What did it cost to get it installed? It looks like it goes from clear to frosted but does it go dark so it can be close to opaque. If yes then how dark 50%, 70%, 90% etc?

A company from mainland China called Shadow has released a new controller that can adjust the tint via Bluetooth connected to your phone — pretty cool.
It's specifically molded for the Taycan's sunroof, though I'm not sure how to place an order in your region.
The light transmittance is 95%, so it's actually quite clear when not tinted.

What is the lowest transmission? Can it block 50% of the light or just go from clear to frosted?
