Can I just say -- as a casual lurker occasionally reading up on this thread out of curiosity -- that I'm incredibly impressed with your efforts to get this car going. And equally of the support your getting from this community.

I really hope you pull it off.

Thank you for saying that! It means a lot to hear. It’s been a crazy journey, but the help and advice from this community has made a huge difference. I hope to cross the finish line soon!

Perhaps retitle the thread to something like "Restoring a Taycan after prior unknown damage" or something like that, then add a mention to thread one describing what this thread has become (and maybe what post does the restoration start, so people can skip PIWIS acquisition discussions) - it might attract more eyes, and therefore more helpful comments.

Today I was doing some tests on the car's OBD port. I started by checking the resistance of pin 6 can bus high and pin 14 Can bus low. My value is within the values 68.4 oms. I leave a photo below.

@carlos vilarinho i see you are running Piwis 41.500, does everything work OK with your Taycan?

Just asking because I have 41.600 (also with diagnostics 38.250), but Taycan isn't showing up in simulation mode (my 6154 V1.6.6 dongle is on its way from china).
Maybe it will work just fine if it detects the Taycan?

Will be attempting to code an aftermarket backup camera soon :)

Yes, it works perfectly well so far, when you click on diagnosis, the Taykan will appear in the selection menu and you can go that way, or after connecting the VAs to the OBD the program normally identifies the car and just move on?If you need any explanation or information, do not hesitate to contact me again

anybody familiar with coding for a reverse camera?

I have some aftermarket camera that suddenly stopped working, only getting the sensors overlay.
Car went through some PCM updates at the dealer, thinking maybe codes have been restored to factory defaults.

It seems like I only found something camera related in the BCM1 module? Seems strange because that's the module for the front electronics, thought BCM2 handles everything in the back?

When I select rvc_installed, I instantly get an error code
Been changing coding, save it, then jump in the car to see if the camera comes up when putting it in reverse ... not sure if changes show up instantly or that the car needs to be locked/sit for 5 minutes for everything to restart.

Wanted to ask if it's indeed only that one setting in BCM1 that needs to be toggled to rvc_installed, or if there is also another module that needs some coding? (maybe "gateway", but couldn't find anything obvious there?)

Good afternoon everyone, I just want to give an update here regarding my car, I changed the door module and the passenger door situation was definitively resolved, as well as changing the GPS antenna which solved my location problem and changing the cell antenna (LTE) which solved my access to the input of my access to my account in the PCM

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all the members of the Porsche Taycan Forum.

After a lot of hard work, everything is finally sorted out with the car — it is legal, passed the inspection without any problems and is working perfectly. It was a long and demanding process, but in the end it was worth every effort.

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart everyone who, in some way, supported me with advice and shared their experiences throughout this journey. A very special thanks to Whitex and Chung, for their patience, understanding and the lessons they taught me — they made all the difference.

Once again, my sincere thanks to the entire community. Without your support, it would not have been possible to get this far.

Tip for those who want to program/code modules in the Porsche Taycan: use VCDS!

After much difficulty finding a working version of PIWIS (Piwi) — which, even when found, does not always allow programming or automatic programming — I found a practical and efficient solution: I used VCDS and it worked perfectly in the Taycan.

Although VCDS is better known among VW and Audi users, it is compatible with many Taycan modules, since Porsche is part of the VAG group and shares several electronic components and architectures with other brands in the group.

How VCDS managed to:
• Check and clear errors,
• Code modules (including doors, lighting and electronic control units),
• Perform maintenance and adjustments with ease.

In addition, VCDS is much easier to find (including via torrent, for those who follow this path), and there are countless tutorials online.

I highly recommend it as an alternative to PIWIS for anyone who wants to perform advanced adjustments or maintenance on the Taycan without relying on official or proprietary tools.

VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) is a very powerful and popular tool among enthusiasts and professionals who work with vehicles from the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda). It offers advanced diagnostic features, reading and clearing errors, coding modules, adaptations and even programming in certain cases — something that few generic software can do with this depth.

To complement this tip:

• VCDS works via cable (usually with a VAG-COM HEX-V2 cable or similar), so it is important to ensure compatibility with your car.
• Although pirated versions can be found, it is ideal to use legitimate versions to avoid problems with updates and data reliability.
• The software is updated frequently, and there are many tutorials online on how to use it for various functions, including retrofitting equipment, activating hidden features and more.

Very useful info…

What version of VCDS did you use? Is there a minimum version requirement? I am looking to code a Taycan MY23…

In addition, do you have any idea as to how to code TPS sensors To also show temperature along with pressure?

Thanks…
