PMCC not charging Kona EV?

After searching the Forum I have noticed that everybody can charge non Porsche EV using the PMCC. Any idea if any setting need to be changed to do that? Mine doesn’t charge my daughter’s Kona EV.

There is no setting that could influence that. Is the PMCC showing an error message? Does the Kona actually tried to charge? Does it have an LED statue charge port and final, what does it show?

I have the same problem with my Tesla - PMCC/PMC+ is not a good EVSE - the porsche stuff sucks - get a better and different EVSE.

PMCC sucks... can't even charge other porsches.

I have a Cayenne e-hybrid and for some reason the PMCC and car interface limits the charging to only 3kw. Swap out the Taycan's PMCC with the one supplied with my Cayenne and car gets 7kw at same plug. No idea whats going on.

Ps. Yes, we all know the "charger" is in the car and the PMCC is an EVSE.

Your frame of reference is not the North American version though, right? I don’t think many outside of NA are complaining about the PMC+/C. But it seems to be a pretty common item to complain about in NA.

My PMC+ charges my brother's EV6 faster (9.1kW) than it charges my Tayan (8.9kW).

Maybe you should check how much kwh can Kona receive?
in case that your charger is set to 22kwh…it’s,too much for Kona?

PMCC maxes out of 9.6kW here. Regardless, it shouldn’t matter for the car. It just tells the car its max current and the car is expected to limit its load.

My device is a European version, so the hardware and communication is different to the NA version.

If you have issues, it would be great to get as much information as possible to maybe figure out where the problem is. I am developing software that controls the charging process, so I might be able to help identify why these issues come up.

That's why I asked the specific questions above.

Basically the Kkna has to be on when plugging in or no charging will hapen

Then i can try to turn it off but only after a few mins. If i turn it off right away no charging.

Strange, my brother's EV6 didn't need to be on for it to charge. Not a Kona, but same family...
