Is anyone encountering issues connecting to their vehicle this evening?

I am unable to connect to my car, first plugged the charger to the vehicle and would not reflect on the app and the Ovo app, also tried pre heat and unlocking the car and still no luck.

later nipped to my office where the signal is alway booming however still not working, tried logging out of the app and logging back in still no joy, also tried from my PC but still not working.

wondering if any other users encountering same issue.

I have the same this evening and think it is doing the rounds globally.

My guess is server side upgrades and cars are placed in privacy mode for a period of time.

I wouldn't fiddle and will come to life again at some point tomorrow.

Adrian, have you had any luck with the connectivity on your app, mine still not working, in the past usually issues are resolved by the following morning.

Mine is working, though i think it's a bit glitchy. Ovo didn't think i was plugged in yesterday afternoon. I disconnected, left 5 mins then reconnected and ovo found the car. However it charged me to 100%. Like it did the day before as well (target 80%). So wonder if there is a link.

As aside, it started charging straight away both times - i..e mid afternoon/early evening rather than overnight as usual with Ovo. Did give me the discount.

Yep, all good this morning plus I had some notifications which may explain the temporary switch to Privacy Mode. Update for Infotainment - "Finder - dynamic content was successfully updated to 7.1.8" at 08:06 this morning. Not 100% certain the two are related but I'll go with it for now.

Spoke to Porsche support this am, advised to log out of the PCM and log back in, due to no LTE I was unable to connect also this effected the tracker I was not getting any alerts driving without the fob, they advised to take it to the dealership.

Bottom line for some strange reason LTE stopped, took it to the local Porsche dealer, they got technician to look at it not sure what he did but got everything working again in 30 mins.

He advised for some strange reason the LTE stopped working and the way to find out if this happens again is the LTE sign disappears to the PCM left hand side and the little led light near the rear view mirror turns red instead of green.

Got a result and up and running again.

I had an issue tonight when I went out and the PCM was stuck on the Porsche screen. When I got home, I locked it and came back about an hour later and it was working again, but I also got the same update message. I let it update and all seems fine.

The light is the SOS button which depends on the LTE module working which is shared with the PCM.

There were a batch of MY22 / 21 cars which were delivered to customers with this in a red atste if memory serves

This happened to me once where LTE shutdown and didn’t come back. I pulled the fuse for wireless communications in the footwell panel, waited a minute and put it back. All was well after that.

I’m still trying to figure out what this 7.1.8 update is that came through because it seems like an older version than the 7.1.17 and 7.1.21 I’ve seen from the past (unless they have some weird versioning system).

7.1.8(0) is a much higher version than 7.1.21 by around 0.59, right?

Suspect they dropped the trailing zero.

I guess, but that would be a very poor versioning system, that’s not how it’s done in the software world.

Not sure if this is related, however, twice today I had connectivity issues. Spotify would not connect, and the app showed that the car was in privacy mode….it wasn’t. However, I then both times got a pop up saying a software update was available. I touched ‘update’, and the update loaded (very quickly), then instantly connectivity was restored. Spotify started working, and the app connected fine. I’m just wondering if a downloaded update that is waiting to be installed, for some reason blocks the connection until it is installed??

Update will normally only apply when the car is powered on so this may have been downloaded earlier and then set about getting things ready before the update was applied at next power on. I think it is all related to the update we've all had - shame on Porsche for not sharing more info / changelog / release notes on what they're doing at random to our vehicles.

You can attempt to prevent this by changing your updates and notifications. Personally, just go with it..

Well at least you are getting some updates. Even my oven has had more online updates (2) than my Taycan (0) since purchase. And my Taycan had to go back to the dealer for two days for "reprogramming central computer" fix whereas my oven has remained stable in the kitchen.

It's not as if the Taycan doesn't have bugs that an update might fix.
