Superb, appreciated.. as a simple chap, it baffles me why the 800 V system will not replenish the 12 V system when in dire need, perhaps I am a little too simple for today’s technology. Basically most of the above rules out leaving it at many airports for longer than a week, certainly not longer than two weeks without being plugged in. Bearing in mind I have no third-party plug-in cameras or similar, and the Porsche doesn’t have a sentry mode, all seems very limiting to be fair. The next time I get to a main dealer will be the end of October when it will be time to swap once more for the winter wheels upon which point I will ask for an update while I am there. CheersCould have been a misunderstanding on the part of the recovery assistance guy. Perhaps the technician was speculating about 100% HV battery drain i.e. you were at or near zero. There is an HV battery charge threshold below which the 12V does not get charged.
I suggest you press your OPC to confirm/ensure that you have all software updates relating to the 12V battery drain issues (discussed heavily in other threads here) as well as the interior alarm sensor recall campaign. If you have any 3rd party stuff connected (Dashcams, ODB2 dongles, USB gadgets etc) I would disconnect all of those for a while - just to eliminate opportunities for blame-shirking while you press for resolution.
Be aware of the best practices per the manual regarding maintaining HV charge:
Numbers 3, 4 and 5 all have implications for the 12V battery. Note particularly the 20% threshold and advice about the Porsche Connect app usage when the vehicle is not connected to a charger.
- Charge to 100% only ahead of long trips.
- Charge to 80% for shorter daily driving.
- Charge asap if HV battery falls below 5%.
- For idle periods of 2+ weeks, connect HV charger and use profile to maintain 20-50%. Don’t leave off the charger.
- For idle periods of 2+ weeks, if you can’t leave connected to charger, charge HV to 50% and check every 3 months to ensure charge never falls below 20%. Avoid using Porsche Connect app in this state, which discharges both HV and 12V batteries.
