I considered it until my SA whispered in my ear and said to avoid the 2020 Taycans due to all the problems they were seeing.
Why does it matter is the car has warranty? 99% is the same hardware and battery degradation can be checked.

Polestar is a Swedish automotive brand established in 1996 by Volvo Cars' partner Flash/Polestar Racing. Polestar does manufacture in China, but they will start making cars in South Carolina next year.
They are owned by the Geeky Group which makes them Chinese.

Not necessarily. Around Aug/Sept '21, before the shortage, there were so many new Taycan on dealers lots, and I saw a low optioned 2021 turbo for $165k. So, not only the 2020 the OP brought up is a year older, but it could also have few options as well. That being said, I'd avoid the '20 as well.
I'm curious, is your Taycan MY21? I've been participating in Tesla forums for almost a decade now, and I found that a lot of people have a subconscious bias against models older than the oldest one they owned. In their heads (and posts), anything made prior should be avoided. Heck, I caught myself thinking along those lines once before realizing that it was not rational, not having powered folding mirrors for example was not a good enough reason to avoid buying a car (my first Tesla was from a first batch manufactured with powered folding mirrors). I wonder if the same bias exist in the Taycan community. Other than plug-and-charge, are there any significant differences between a MY20 and MY21?

Very little that we know off but isn't wireless Android Auto not a feature of MY20 and additional HUD display elements even with uPdate applied?

Mine is a MY22. My reasoning for avoiding the MY20 has nothing to do with missing options or features, but all on reliability. First model year of any vehicle has been the least reliable let alone first of technology (BEV) in this case. Being around on this forum and Rennlist, as well as, other online sources you can tell there were more issues in the beginning. When I was waiting for my car, I often felt I made a huge mistake on ordering it because of all of the issues I read on here from others. Then when it finally arrives, it has been almost perfect and the number of issues I read on here has gone down tremendously as well. I know it’s a small percentage of actual owners out there but when combined with other sources it still represents good information.

I think the uPdate (and prior software patched) resolved all of this, right?

If waiting is not an issue and you had the following three options, which would you choose? 1) Buy a certified pre-owned 2020 Taycan Turbo for 130k 2) Buy a new 2023 Taycan 4S with my own selection of options for 130K 3) Wait for the more powerful and probably less expensive (100k+) Polestar 5 in 2024? Thanks!
I would choose the Turbo. My experience was the following. It was September 2021 and I was waiting for an allocation to build a 4S that would have been around $140K with all of the options I wanted but I was in holding pattern probably for a few more months waiting in for an allocation. i was not in a rush like you so was OK waiting 12+ months if I needed to. Then I just happened to come across a low mileage CPO 2020 Turbo S at an out of state dealer in my color combo with the paint matched Mission E’s that I dreamed of but just couldn’t justify on a 4S build. One owner, barely driven, looked and felt brand new. $209K original sticker plus had PPF and ceramic applied by first owner. Turns out he had a handicapped mother he had to drive around and the car was too low for her. I really lucked out and the dealership sold to me for $170K. Best decision I could have made and have been really spoiled by the rocket ship that is the Turbo S. I’ve had no real issues and post-uPdate it’s basically the same car as a 2022 minus plug and charge.

I am genuinely surprised about the number of 20/21 saloons that are available second-hand (with a nice bulletproof Porsche warranty) that are not being purchased as an alternative to waiting around for new ones. Many of them (not the ultra-low mile ones) look a bargain at the moment.

"Geely" Global and as a Polestar 2 owner I can attest our Polestar 2 has has had nowhere near as many issues as my Taycan, not to mention NHTSA recalls.

I highly recommend the Performance Pack and Nappa Leather.

When buying CPO is the mileage unlimited? I'm was looking at a 2021 4s with 12,000 miles and it said warranty was until 2028. Standard is 4 years 50,000 miles. The extended is 2 yrs unlimited mileage.
If you were to do 50,000 miles in 3yrs do you still get the rest of the coverage from the CPO warranty for that 4th year?

I would check if extended warranty covers the same things as the original standard warranty. It probably does not.
