Cost of 12v battery replacement

What could possibly be so special about a 12v battery for it to cost. $1200+? Except of course for the cost to move it from one side of the Porsche parts counter to the other. Are there no aftermarket alternatives?

I was wondering the same so had to confirm on here.

Looks like lithium is the reason. Lithium prices have been supply-stricken and raw material prices have moved up 4x in the past 1-2 years.

Supply shocks, oil surges, and EV demand are all contributors.

That’s reasonable for a Porsche lithium battery. They use their own proprietary connector for battery management the ability to charge an extra cost.
