Windshield Replacement Cost

The windshield on my Taycan 4s was replaced today. The independent glass operator got the windshield from Porsche , OEM 9J1 845 099 R NVB. $1329.52 on invoice from Porsche , $200 flat rate installation, high module urethane $30, Static recalibration $300= $1859.52.

Any idea what is "static recalibration", and how it compares to the sensor calibrations that would be performed by the dealership if they replaced the windshield? (Also, I believe that should be "high modulus" urethane, a description of it's elastomeric properties.)

Static uses a Camera and Sensor Calibration Tool in the shop. My guy said his tool is the same as the one dealerships use.
Dynamic calibration requires driving the car with hand held unit that is plugged into the car while it is being driven.
FRom my limited research, the differnce can be critical IF there is a forward facing camera is inside the windshield and that camera isused for sfety features.

Does that glass really impact cell signal?

If your Taycan is equipped with thermal noise and insulated glass:

Your mobile cell signal is not impacted.

My window-mounted EZPASS transponder is impacted (blocked). I ordered a license plate EZPASS transponder but decided not to install it since it covers a larger surface area of the license plate number.

EZPASS takes a photo of the car and license plate so the plate is registered with the EZPASS transponder, so billing is successful without a surcharge.
