Question about Driving Mode selection

Hi guys,

looking at getting a Gen 2 taycan sport or cross turismo in the next 6 months.

Previously had a 992 carrera S and currently in a Cayenne GTS.

I've driven the RWD gen 2 taycan and was incredibly impressed.

I have a question regarding the drive select modes. I know all cars have the little drive select mode dial on the steering wheel. I believe they have ditched the individual mode ?

Do you need to have the sport chrono pack to be able to customise the sport and sport plus modes to your individual preferences?

This is how it works:

J1.2 Eliminated Individual Mode.
Without Sports Chrono you only have Sport Mode.
Without Sports Chrono if you have Air Suspension you still get Sports Plus chassis setup.
You can customize Sport Mode and Save.
You can adjust Normal mode but cannot Save.

I think all J1.2 taycans have air suspension now as standard.

The RWD J 1.2 one I drove allowed you to tweak the drive mode / chassis / level / sound etc.. on the centre console, but I'm not sure if it would allow you to save those settings.

Do you need to have sport chrono to allow it to save custom setups?

You are 100% correct. Air Suspension is now standard, I knew it but missed that detail.
You do not need Sports Chrono to be able to customize Sport Mode.
You do not need Sports Chrono to have Launch Control on Taycan or Macan EV.

I do not have J1.2 but this is a great PCM online simulator that matches J1.2 so you can see it for yourself.

SAVING the settings is a whole different topic though, discussed here in the forum.
If that is important to you, you might take a deep dive, as it is not intuitive and also not possible to completely customize.
