I believe it's not part of any options pack... you just have to find it (on the left side).
I thought there were a bunch of posts a while back about ‘22 cars not having the AWD display. Am I remembering correctly?

Yep, you are right... I forgot that.
Quite unusual downgrade, isn't it?
Maybe views needs to be defined/selected somewhere....?

For MY22:

The new Taycan model year will not be homologated separately, so there will not be any new WLTP range values. However, the real-world range of the latest versions will be greater in dayto-day use. Extensive technological developments have been implemented to achieve this increase. In Normal and Range modes, the front electric motor is almost completely decoupled and de-energised in the partial load range in the all-wheel drive models. Furthermore, no drive is transmitted to either axle when the car is coasting or at a standstill. This electric freewheel function reduces drag losses. The motors are switched on again within milliseconds only when the driver requests more power or changes the driving mode. The thermal management and charging functions have also been further improved.

All AWD models and variants behave in the same way.

Note also the drive shift when ascending or descending a hill.

Thanks, this was what I was referring to in the first post. I guess mine being MY21, so I don't have this management until I upgrade the software. Funny that... on MY22 this display is gone..

I'm getting the safety recall work and the AC pressure sensor work done on Friday and will ask about the missing display (I'm expecting they won't realise or have a clue however).

Does anyone know what range mode does in a RWD that's different to normal mode besides putting the suspension in the lowest setting? Obviously there can be no decoupling, does it just keep the car permanently in second gear? I think it may dial back throttle response but that could just be a function of being in second gear (if indeed that's what happens) or I could be imagining it

Range mode also controls the AC (sets it to Eco or Eco Plus Mode), dim the headlights if needed, lowers the ride height if air suspension is fitted, deploys rear spoiler on the saloon/sedan, dials back power and if things get really tight then power is reduced to non essential systems.

Same as AWD models apart from decoupling / powering down one of the motors.

Right, so basically fiddles around the edges with the electronics to get a few extra miles, doesn't really do anything with the drivetrain

So i tested it again more today,
note that mine is MY21

from this vid, when i throttle, it used mainly the rear motors (not exclusively tho), even when im not accelerating like crazy. then quickly switches to front only when i’m coasting (left of the pedal)

That's my understanding. Range adds at most 10 miles depending on all other factors at play but comes into its own when used with NAV, PRIM and Porsche Charging Planner.

That's the same experience I have with my '21 Turbo. RWD primarily for acceleration (maybe 80-90% from eyeballing) and it shifts to FWD when coasting at speed on flat or downward slope.
