In consumer products, rule of thumb was that for every complaint telephoned/mailed in to company about a product, 7 or so other consumers who had the same complaint just chose to buy a different product.

From what I see here in the last couple of years, most Taycan owners are extremely patient/forgiving about product deficiencies, including safety-related problems, except for posting about them here.
In the auto industry the effect of choosing other product is delayed, as it is not as easy/affordable/feasible to discard your 6 month car to get another product. The question is, for every complaint communicated to the company, how many choose a different product for the next purchase. If a brand instituted "24 month money back guarantee", they could see the effects very directly, at a cost of course.
