I have recently been given a new and updated Porsche Charger to replace the one I purchased in 2022 with my Taycan. This was swapped as a remedy for the recall regarding the potential for the cable to over heat and possible catch fire. For what it’s worth the older model worked perfectly.
Two months into the new one and I have yet to have a plug and charge session. The new charger when plugged in immediate says that the charger cable is over heated and will not engage the car.
My Porsche dealer has had it in their shop twice and it works on their 220 system. They’re telling me that it’s probably my home electrical installation, possibly something to do with the ground? (even though the older one worked fine)
Has anyone else had the same issue and if so, what was the solution to fix it?
Thanks for any insight you guys might have. I’m about to put a hammer to this one!
