I'm happy to read this post, mine is 480 km now and has the same symptoms. I just can't drive that fast or brake that strong, Switzerland is not the country for crazy driving. I hope I can take some time on an nice German highway at full speed!

And I have the same annoying kalnk when I release the brake pedal
It happened around the 800 km for me and yes, it makes a more pleasant driving experience once the braking region is working.

A while ago, someone mentioned bedding the brakes by taking the car up to highway speeds, putting it in neutral to disable regen then braking hard several times. Given the vast differences in when regen starts for various people I expect the trigger is braking time above a specific threshold, so deliberately braking hard a few times may help bring regen into play quicker.

Perhaps share with the 'Master Class' person (from the Owner's manual):

Operating principle
Bedding in and cleaning the brakes
The vehicle has a braking recuperation system that feeds some of the braking energy back into the high voltage battery. In order to bed in the wheel brake, the recuperation system is deactivated briefly on new vehicles or after changing the brake pads and this reduces the range. To assist in cleaning the brakes, the recuperation system is deactivated for a short time after standstill times of more than 6 hours. The recuperation system is activated again automatically afterwards.

The actual mileage when this kicks in on a new car or indeed after pad changes or brake fluid replacement is a bit of a shifting target and will vary between cars due to local conditions and usage.

From new I had the recuperation activate around 500 - 650 miles (can't honestly remember but there is an obvious visual cue when this occurs). After the 2 year service (part of this is to replace the brake fluid) and 18,000 miles the recuperation was inactive for around 2 weeks.
Today I learned that this can be manually triggered on the J1.2 MY25 Taycans within PCM and switched off. The car automatically and periodically perform the brake clean regardless.

I just got the message that the PSCB were run-in on my Turbo ST at 293km (=182mi) and regen started working immediately during braking.
