Remote Park Assist obstacle sensitivity

Does anyone know what the specs are for sensor reactions in Remote Park assist - are there data sheets somewhere online?

Specifically I am wondering what is the distance limit for a sensor to invoke braking during parking maneuvers? I had a go at using my RPA in my garage and TBH I chickened out when the car approached the back wall as 1) it seemed to be approaching too quickly to my eye and 2) had not braked when only 1.5 ft from wall or less!

Plan to do a test at some pt. with cardboard boxes as a back wall just to feel comfortable using it , if that is, I ever actually do in the future - came with the Tech Pkg. in 2022 builds and actually have more interest in the bundled safety features like maneuver assist, passenger door proximity warnings etc. than the featured app controlled remote parking.

If anyone else has successfully used the app to park can you describe or share a vid as to the car's behaviour when approaching walls etc? Would like to know if my observation is typical!

I also tried several times both forwarded into a space and reversed into one but chickened every time and hit the brakes. I got it to back out from the garage to my driveway though so money well spent…not ?

Sorry, late response but amazingly no, have not tested further! But again mine was bundled with other features I wanted vs this so NBD for me - that said I am still very curious to check the operational limits - will get to it at some pt!

It is amazingly few videos on this online - I can only find this as a half decent demo. 4 years old and wrong model ? and this from a Taycan

She's a wild one. My BMW was very smooth, methodical and controlled. My Taycan is a nutter parking parallel sometimes. It will accelerate and I do hold my breath sometimes as it hard brakes at the very last minute. Spins the wheel and reverses. It gets a bit confused parking over speed bumps where the lines may appear to bend but are really rising. It also hated parallel parking between two vans near the limit width which ended with a scrag to the alloys as it reversed and ground into the kerb and a call to the Dent Wizard boys.

Also curious to understand if anyone using this after the uPdate has been applied noticed any difference.

One of the new features were parking in tighter spots. Assuming that goes for Remote ParkAssist as well as ParkAssist
