Just got mine back, took 4 weeks from me dropping it off.

I dropped it off as Porsche assist couldn't pick it up for 10 days. Loan car was a Mercedes E Class, diesel....awful car !

Would you guys advise anyone thinking of ordering a new Taycan should hold off until this issue has been resolved in the design of the car/heater system?

I was to collect my new GTS ST tomorrow but won't be as the car was shipped with a failed heater. Car arrived at the dealership on Monday and informed on Tuesday. No ETA.

At this point I would be considering a completely different vehicle.

My T4S is 2 years plus old now and spent the first four months of ownership with many faults.

Slap in the face to wait 14 months after ordering my GTS ST for an allocation and then 3 months for delivery for it all to fall apart.

With no ETA and loss of confidence in the brand (long time Porsche owner) the only thing I see as being consistent is a reduction in quality and reliability.

What are you considering as alternatives? I imagine an Audi E-tron GT would be out of the question as it has the same parts as the Taycan?

Most definitely would not be that and it feels like they're aren't on sale as I've seen around 4 since launch. The Q4 e-tron has also had significant heater issues - reason given for poor (1300) sales in US last year as they stopped selling the car. They've since redesigned that part and gone lower tech which is code for "yes, you'll have even less range now".

In truth I have no idea as the field is limited and all have issues one way or another. If I were brave and it was on sale I would probably venture into a full blown Range Rover (a proper one) which is a different beast and probably would suit my needs better.

I can't go ICE (that would make me a hypocrite) but it is a tempter.

I suspect I will sit it out when all said and done.

You’re in a low point in the ordering process @W1NGE and I feel for you as I remember how early you ordered your GTS. But hang on in there this will probably be sorted soon and you’ll be happy once more. Maybe.

It's coming close to me going into the dealer and cancelling my 4CT. I ordered in my 4CT in August 22 and had no contact from my dealer so went in to see them in November and tell them I was going to cancel my CT so spoke to head guy and he told me that they had one in the system, and they would have it end of February 23. Spec it and signed the paperwork 4th November 22 and have had no contact with the SP since. I am thinking the heater problems is going to delay my 4CT somewhat as I have been in phase 3 for a number of weeks. I also had to put my Cayenne in to get the heater fixed about a year after I had it, and it was in the workshop for 3 weeks they would not believe me it was not working the first time I went in with it as it was intermittent and had to go back when it stopped working all together. This will be my second Porsche and unless the 4CT impresses the hell out of me it will be my last and back to Audi.

In porsche's defence, that's the same for every dealer in every brand!

My Range Rover just back from a service and to fix for a knackered sounding heating fan. So they changed the pollen filter to fix it. Did that work? Did it fuXX!

May need to go further afield than Audi given the plethora of shared components!

As mentioned.... Audi Etron GT shares the same component and is having the same issue.

My car has been in production for at least a week. SA was on holiday so I didn't find out till he returned last week. MyPorche APP is stuck at Stage 2 what a joke.

Just got a call today that my delivery date has been put back 2 weeks so this must be the heater issue as this means the car will be in production for 5 weeks roughly. I hope it is fixed at the factory and not shipped to France where it will probably sit for weeks at the dealer, but let's see. I can understand anyone who has waited a long time giving in but I'm hanging on and waiting for mine for far.

When I called my SA today the first thing he said was "is everything alright?". I'm sure he thought I was calling to cancel my order lol

I felt this way during my 4 month wait for a 12V battery, but, for me, there was no attractive alternative to the CT4S so I would just not have bothered with a new car at all.

As it is I am glad I waited, but my heater is still working for now…

Very similar experience to me. I was told two weeks for Porsche Assistance to collect the car so I drove it to my local Porsche centre which is less than 1 mile from my home. Took two weeks to fix and I had a three year old, diesel E class to use whilst I waited. Appalling car but made the Taycan seem even better when I got it back.
