I'm trying to filter for fast DC chargers. Below the radio button for "Only DC", there are several other radio buttons for various rates. They are all greyed out as shown in the attached image. The car will show me chargers, but there are several near my house that are not being shown. The dealer indicates I have to pay the monthly $27 for Porsche connect for these to be enabled, and the Porsche North America doesn't seem to know if that is true.

I think it's ridiculous to have to pay a monthly fee for a basic function required for an electric vehicle.

So I'm here to ask if anyone who is NOT paying monthly for Porsche Connect has access to these DC fast charge filter buttons?? I would like to gather this info before Tuesday because I'm going back to the deal to complain about this.

I have a second issue with the car routing me to a non-existent freeway offramp, but I'll post that separately.

Can you tell us your PCM version number? Wondering if the car was ever upgraded.

Yes, you need the subscription. I guess yours is an early my25 car.

For my26 cars, they include 10 years of the sub for “free” - baked into the cost of the car.

Yes, it was, these options don’t even exist on j1.1 software stack
I don’t understand what you mean. I have a J1.1 and my car has these options, as does the OP (he posted in a separate thread about it) which is why I asked about his PCM version.

The OP has a 2022 Taycan and assume Porsche Connect recently expired. I do not see a way that this can work without Porsche Connect as it needs real time search to get the chargers and then sort them out based on Filters. The benefit of having the charger selected from the PCM is pre-conditioning of the battery for fast charging.

I ran into this issue before when I was driving a loaner (it was a 2022 version but almost 3 years ago), so my profile was Guest, and when I would go to search, it would show the same thing, no internet and cannot do any kind of charging station real time list and filter. My only option was just to choose them from the map data full list using Charger Tile. One thing I do remember is that my charging was extremely slow but at that time I did not know about preconditioning, so may be the car never went into pre-heating the battery. I would see some really slow speeds and I could not understand why.

You have no internet connectivity where data is part of the My Porsche subscription service. Without this no dice - a data connection is needed to search online for any and all EVSE Operators signed up to Porsche. Google search can also be performed but you would still require the data connection.

In the absence of an active subscription then use CarPlay or Android Auto to locate….but note you’ll lose preconditioning.

Ah, for a second i thought it's the menu for selecting charger providers - i was on my phone.
I stand corrected.

Still, it only works with the subscription.

To check on list of services provided by Porsche Connect, look up status of those services in your PCM: Settings >> Privacy & Porsche Connect >> Overview of Porsche Connect.

One of the services is "Finder". That is the service that provides point of interest information for the nav unit, including charging stations. Another service is Finder Dynamic, which handles real-time traffic updates, etc.

Any service not listed in the PCM as 'active - contract valid' will not work in your car.

Yes, you have to subscribe to get Finder and Finder Dynamic services after 3 years from original delivery date in a pre-2026 Taycan.

I was updated to 3885 a couple months ago after complaining about a slew of bugs in 3882

No, it’s a 2022 as mentioned in the title.

But the confusing part is that it finds all sorts of chargers at every level of capacity. Why would I need to pay for a service to filter the chargers it can already see?

It also will find several 350kW Electrify America chargers, but not the one near my house. It’s just a piss-poor implementation. Finding chargers is a fundamental function of an EV. It’s not a perk, or optional accessory that is nice to have.

Why? Because porsche loves money :)

The reason you don't see the chargers next to your house is because the maps don't update without the subscription, and the chargers database are part of the map.

Just to be clear, none of us disagree with you that it's a horrible business practice - hell, porsche agrees with you, but just for 2026 cars :D. But sadly, the reality is that you need the subscription for cars built before 2026.
