I've been driving EVs for a few years now, and there's no going back. The few times I've had ICE loaners or rentals I've immediately missed my EV.

The home charging I have worked out, but I am still waiting for an explanation of why Electrify America think the Taycan is "plug & charge" compatible, but mine certainly doesn't work that way - I need to start it with the app every time.

Just too many random bugs, and also the layout of the menus is a little too "tablet" for me. I think they could have done much more with the center display than they have (I will say the instrument display is fantastic and I've had no problems with that part at all). Even with the bugs, the Taycan is the best EV I've driven by a long way.
Our '23 GTS IS plug and charge. We've got 19K miles and several long trips on it, and the EA network, for all its deficiencies, does work as plug and play. Maybe ask your Porsche dealer to look into this.

I just got my Taycan RWD yesterday - traded a 991 Targa on it - and I’m second guessing that decision.
I already miss the open roof and the better off the line performance. Plus the cooler styling.

it doesn’t help that the electronics and charging experience are so buggy.

I’m going to give it an honest try and see how it goes. Worst case I order another Targa and trade this against it.

For the record I’m a huge believer in EV tech and torque and really do want to love this car.

So far my big complaints are the giant size and the difficult ingress/egress. And the myriad of apps that overcomplicate the experience. Why aren’t connect, charging and my Porsche one unified app?

it pains me to say Tesla is really ahead in this regard.
I like driving my '23 GTS Taycan, the smoothness, instant power/torque and quite ride are all marvelous attributes. But, I love driving my 991 GTS and 993 Carrera. The sound of an NA engine, and the feel of pulling through 2nd and 3rd gears is intoxicating. There is something missing with even a performance EV, although I too am not sure what it is. The Boxster EV will be the test. If that doesn't feel like a Porsche sports car, then all hope is lost (and please Porsche, don't add electronic noise and simulated shifting!).

I hear ya, but can’t go back to an ICE for my daily. I still have my 94 Mustang GT manual convertible for those days I need my old ICE fix!

Just to put things in context, that was June of 2021 and I'm still driving Tacans...my second.

I just placed a deposit on a 992.2 Carrera S. Taycan's awesome but, imo, not worth the money.
