Many thanks for this! THis is exactly what I was looking for. But I'm not quite sure from the way you've shot this if the sides of the car are visible. I'm not exactly clear on which section you are seeing when folded. Would I be able to see how far I am from a "kerb" or from a wall that is very near. In your video, it seems like the car is not visible anymore when folded, but you also haven't included the whole view.

It is clear from the picture.

The blue line is the kerb line plus you can see the rear wheel.

I don’t know how you guys are getting it to play because I can’t! It is taken from a parking space on a block paved car park so the distortion is obvious. I don’t think you would get any meaningful information from the image if you were moving the car. The image is looking forwards down each side if the car. You can see the front wheels

It is not clear _to me_. That line just stays on the same position on the screen and the camera shifts. I don't see any rear wheel. The blue line is at a 45 degree angle to the kerb if you care to take a careful look before commenting.

It doesn't work on Safari for me either, but works on Chrome. Weird. Probably some QuickTime thing.

Thanks a lot. The front view is great, it's just not entirely clear to me from the video if the sides of the car are visible at all when the mirrors get folded. If it's not too much trouble for you, would you mind posting another video where you film the entire display of the PCM? In your current video, the bottom part is cropped and it's hard to tell.

Bizarre. Taken on an iPhone but wont play on iPhone or iPad. Will play on PC!
So… 2 videos. First is the side views with me moving forwards across the drive. Then mirrors fold up and move again. Then back down. View is forward.
second video is reversing. In between anothe car and low kerb. Mirrors down. Didn’t fold them reversing

I think the bottom line here is that the images with the mirrors folded are not really any use

You're going to hate me, but the video where you reverse very close to the other car, is exactly the scenario I'd be interested in using the cameras with the mirrors folded. Would it be too much to ask for that too?

Front wheel apparently and there is no kerb in the image where I commented. The later pictures make it simpler for yourself to figure this out or don't have access to an Porsche with 360 pano view.

And yes - I did look and am quite familiar with the cameras for the past 17 months, you?

The blue lines work well for kerb side parking and when in a garage opening you can see either side - front or back.

Forget worrying about what you can see in reverse when the mirrors fold. No road at all…

Thanks for testing that.
To Gabriel...don't despair, I don't bother using the side camera view to get in and out of my garage that requires my mirrors folded to pass through the door frame- I know you have a longer narrow section, but you should still be able to do it all on the rear camera provided you can get lined up fairly straight outside (helped if you can mark out the necessary trajectory of the rear wheels with paint or tape or thin strips of wood within the garage, which you can use to line up your rear camera lines).

Thank you so much for your effort. I am flattered on how friendly and helpful some people on this forum are.

You’re right. You would know :) I was lucky enough for our co-member @Jhenson29 tp do this which clearly shows the same thing you are saying: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...cameras-with-mirrors-folded.10509/post-151826

You would know ?
...but I think that your gap to the driver-side wall is more challenging than mine, because yours stays the same all the way, whereas mine (well, actually the passenger side in a UK vehicle) opens up a little once I'm past the door frame. If you wanted even more reassurance that you're staying clear of the wall, you could fit a cheap home-networked security camera (e.g. Tapo) on the back wall right next to the side wall, so you can call up a real-time (well, likely with a slight lag but you won't be moving that fast) view on your phone.

Right, this is exactly what I did! I bought one of those cheap TP-Link Tapo cameras. They do have some lag, but it could be of help. I also plan to put a mirror at the end of the garage. I'm planning to try and go in forwards. I think it should be the same difficulty with the front camera. A bit more concerned about reversing out, but the camera and mirror should help!
