It's had to capture in a video, but I've been getting more frequent noises from what sounds like the rear diff. It seems to be mostly when moving slowly, turning and braking, so mostly when I pull into or back out of my driveway. It's very low, bassy whoah whoah kind of sound and I imagine it being the differential fighitng itself, the breaks dragging or the brakes fighting the differential.
I'll also say that I heard it a lot more when I took the car on a wet skid pad the other day... don't think it happened more often after doing that to be honest, but it was doing it a lot then. It was also extremely difficult to the car to cut loos into a balanced slide, someone outside of the car said it looke the front wheels were getting more drive than the rear and pulling me out of a slide most of the time. In contrast to that, I took it to a snowcross last winter and it was brilliant at sliding in the snow!
Anyway, does anyone have any idea whats going on with this low frequency diff groan? Anythign to be concerned about?
In the viedo below that seems to have posted just a sound clip, you can hear it around 5-6 seconds in, only with headphones on where you get that low frequency resonance.
