Yep they work well but I stopped using mine when BMW started offering camera alerts in the hud for £20 per year.
Does that pick up mobile lasers and mobile vans as well?

Picks up mobile vans as the locations have to be published in advance but I don't think it does lasers/hand held guns

I use Waze or Amigo running in the background in Android Auto. This gives me audible alerts over the Taycans audio. Downside is remembering to start it in AA before setting off.

Pros and Cons to both..
Waze provides other alerts eg broken down car on hard shoulder etc.
Amigo I find is better for speed camera alerts telling me speed limit and also tells me my zverage speed when travelling through average speed limit zones.

@LLA53 how have you hardwired this? Was it fairly straightforward?
sorry for the late reply I missed this. Yes straight forward I used the fuse box directly below, drivers footwell right side and used a fuse dedicated for left hand drive convenient light which obviously doesn’t exist in a right hand drive car. I also removed the dash end cover which is another fuse box to hide the cable so the only exposed cable is the short piece you can see on the dash.

I hardwired mine to passenger side fusebox, lots of empty slots in row B and C. Good tip removing dash end trim panel, this makes routing cable to A pillar much easier. Remember to feed cables behind the airbag.

Couldn't believe it when I found out there were no speed camara alerts. My last two cars have had this as standard. Anybody know if Porsche are going to resolve this, its a drivers car that likes to be pushed, it really is extremely useful to know where the "Safety" speed camera's are...

I notice speed cameras are usually obviously signed in England but many are not and are well hidden in Wales.
I guess either the law or the Police opinion differs between the 2 countries.

I use Radarbot (on Apple and Android) and it’s set to launch when connecting to the car’s Bluetooth. I’m currently using the Apple version which also vibrates the Apple Watch when approaching a camera

…lol, no matter what forum, what make of car, what country the same Q & A always crops up. Funny enough it’s also the same varied answers :CWL:

…and to ‘coin a phrase’…. ’THE’ most reliable way to avoid getting caught by a fixed speed camera, mobile speed camera, SPECS ……<wait for it> ….. is not to speed.

Now going to sit back and await the inevitable reactions to my light hearted sarcastic post.

Nobody speeds ?

People just have momentary distractions.

That being said, I get it. I don't use speed camera warners as I'm usually pretty chill on the road but there's ONE 70km/h speed trap on the way to my home, outside the city, that I forget about 90% of the time. It's right after a long 90km/h stretch so I just keep going at 90 until I see all cars in front of me breaking hard. Then comes the "oh. There's a speed cam ahead" moment.

Maybe I should start using one too

That's how I do it. Waze through CarPlay
I use TomTom Amigo in Android Auto in the background for voice warnings, I find for safety cameras it is slightly better than Waze as it tells you the speed limit and in average speed areas it tells you your average speed. If you want to use the Porsche navigation then no need to start navigation in Waze or Amigo but just make sure you start AA or CarPlay and start app then go back to Porsche nav.... if that makes sense.

I got flashed on the M25 the other week as they had a reduced speed sign to 40 and i was doing about 44. My fault as i try and avoid brakes and use regen, not got any ticket in the post (yet) so fingers crossed. Should have had waze on!

I use one in the USA, it has fixed radar camera alerts (in states which use them). Also shows live directional radar and laser warnings, while it jams laser to give you time to slow down. Would be installing it in the Taycan, but apparently their US dealers are still suffering from supply chain shortages, so going with ALP, but it's worked great on my Model S, also easier to hide on the car with the fiber laser sensors/jammers.
