WIth a few months usage of Spotify, I wanted to offer a couple of observations and seek feedback on like or different Spotify experiences. Firstly, registering my vehicle for Spotify usage through MyPorsche was easy and it worked first time. There are two ways to connect to Spotify, one through the in vehicle app via the PCM and the other via Apple CarPlay.

With the in vehicle app the sound quality is excellent. It is not quite as good as the sound quality from my vehicle connected USB music library, but still pleasing to the ear. What I do tend to experience however, is quite a few small micro streaming drop outs, usually 1 to 2 seconds in duration. These are normally quite random at different points on any drive.

Via Apple Carplay the streaming connectivity is excellent, have not experienced a drop out so far unless there is a complex loss of the mobile network. However the sound quality is noticeably inferior, especially the mid and bass effects.

Interested in other experiences and thoughts.

I have Burmester and have exactly similar experience in terms of sound quality. So I prefer the pcm Spotify integration to the CarPlay

Regarding sudden drops - I don’t experience that.

When using CarPlay I assume you are streaming via your iOS app.

Have you set the streaming quality via cellular to its highest setting (“very high”) in the iOS Spotify app?

I much prefer the CarPlay user interface to the PCM, or to control it on my iPhone directly.
Will have to try out if I hear any difference with my Bose sound system.

Thanks for the tip. Yes on the very high settings.
