Hello guys, I’m new to the forum and wanted to share my build to read some opinions.
I got a call from the dealer and was advised that my freeze date is Nov 30th so… decisions, decisions, decisions…
I live in Costa Rica and the pricing for options is much higher compared to other markets (also the car price) hence the little options that this build has.
I’m going back and forth between Volcano Gray, Carrera White and Dolomite Silver In the exterior color department.
I chose the seats in Bordeaux Red, because my first Porsche a 928 S had them…so I’ve always liked them
I’m having a real hard time deciding on whether having or not having the ORDP, the more threads i read the more I’m leaning towards striking it from the configuration, also trying to figure out if it will be better to have the rear steering option.
Looking forward to get some answers and finally stop visiting the CC :CWL:

I didn’t option the ORDP on my CT. I saw a demonstrator with it fitted and it wasn’t for me. In fairness, it wasn’t painted and just added even more plastic to the body in my opinion. Not a huge fan of the plastic arches either but the ST didn’t come with gravel mode so that was a trade off I was willing to accept.

If it was a choice between ORDP and RWS then, I would opt for RWS every time.

I dislike the look but if you drive on dirt roads much it may be worthwhile for the function.

ORDP is just awful and looks like an aftermarket add on (only worse).

Rear Axle Steering is a no brainer.

Pano roof is a miss IMHO - interior will be darker than you imagine.

Chrome window surrounds look odd given the amount of visible black plastic and so in this case gloss black might be better.

Personally, I'd also skip the bordeaux red interior too brash for my taste. A darker red would be preferable.

ORDP is looking plasticy unless you choose volcano grey. In this case, i think it looks quite good as it merge more into the look.

As others said Rear Axle steering is probably one of the best (if not the best) option for a Taycan.

So does Pano roof as your interior will be very dark without it.

Bordeaux interior is looking quite good, i got it on my 4S

We're getting both, I love the variety of opinions on these matters, my wife was adamant that we got the ORDP, I wasn't particularly fussed, it was the only option she expressed a strong opinion about aside from colours. She thought it gave the car a great stance, ORDP in black with black window surrounds, black rails and privacy glass (sorry Frank).

It will hopefully be going straight to the French Alps for a holiday and having driven one at a Porsche pop up in the Alps last Feb I think will be useful there given the amount of crap that was on those cars. Equally @MrBlueSky the roads up North must be better than my home roads in Kerry ??? ;)

Another vote against overpriced off-road plastic... even if I have it.
+1 for RWS.

Definitely not better - I’m out in the cuds but the ORDP just didn’t sit right with me even though I probably could do with it. Let’s be honest, part of the Porsche ‘thing’ is making the car yours and what a boring place it would be if everyone drove the same cars.

I saw it in a Mamba Green Turbo that was in service the day i was placing the deposit, did not look good in that car because Of the color…i think volcano gray makes the plastic disappear, I don’t hate it but now after knowing that it has the same amount of lift in the suspension as a car Without ORDP i want to remove it

All noted.
I’ve had cars with pano roofs before, not my cup of tea.

Indeed.

Grey looks brownish though on the configurator.

I have volcano just now and had it on my Panamera. Both cars had chrome window surrounds which it needs IMHO to lift the colour.

If not already done so go look at a real world example of both - any Porsche will do if no Taycans.

Keep in mind the ORDP also raises the car higher than standard. Which depending on where you are going to be driving it, could be a good thing or a bad thing.
