Okay, you got a few things wrong here.

When the charger blows it force disconnects the HV battery contactor. Until you replace the module you will never have any drive power.

Additionally, because the HV battery is now permanently disconnected from the car, the 12V battery that powers all the onboard electronics goes flat really quickly, as that's designed to be constantly powered by the HV battery through a voltage converter and does not have a very high capacity.

Connecting a booster will allow you to re-power the car onboard electronics and put the car in neutral for example, or open the windows, or whatever else you need to do. But it will never give you the drive back because the HV battery is permanently disconnected until the OBC is replaced.
That is extremely helpful, didn't know that. Thank you!

I picked up the car today. They replaced the OBC and checked the HV battery. The OBC charter was replaced, and sadly I do not have the part number but I asked again and was again told that this is an upgraded OBC. Apparently after this upgrade they didn't see any taycans fail again.

Bullshit... There is no upgrade for the 22kw OBC charger

Let alone one that doesn't fail.....

Good to see that lying dealerships is a thing across all switzerland and not just my dealership ?

Without your report, i would have never known they replaced my heater, because they denied doing it. I guess because the original never broke, but still...

Are you stating that you know there isn't one, or that you have not seen one ?
How would you categorically know that there were no revisions to the design under the same part number ?

Bore off climate change Karen.

You don't agree with my views on climate change and so because of that now you gotta fuck around every single one of my posts. I don't have time to deal with vindictive Karens. You’re going into my ignore list right now.

Download Porsche PETKA EPC Software and go through all the 22KW OBC part numbers looking at their manufacturing date... all same

Porsche even ditched the 22kw already cuz of how shit it is.

Sure, i consider your views on climate change as stupid and universally debunked on merits, especially for someone in your line of work who should have the sense to keep his mouth shut. They reveal a lack of judgement which puts in question your other pronouncements.

There is a difference between versions and revisions.
You have interesting insights into these STM MOSFETs, but if you cannot see the difference between a symptom and a root cause, and you assume that lot changes or even source changes would necessarily be controlled by assembly part number changes, then you are either being arrogant, ignorant, or both.

Malaysian Karen.... Arrogant, vindictive and rude from the inside out... You guys got a lot to learn from Thais.... hence why Thailand is called the Land of Smiles..... What is Msia called again???

My views on climate change are as valid as yours, and you shouldn't judge me from them. Just like I don't judge you nor all the others who think differently.
Of course you act like a Taliban, (which checks out knowing where you're from).... you wanna apply Sharia law to me for my views on climate change lmao. It's very clear.
Well, tough luck, Keling

Maybe don't worry so much about climate change and worry a bit more about women's rights in your country?? Forcing women to use Hijab under threat of imprisonment doesn't impress anyone. Just shows your insecurities and fragile ego, really.

Not sure what you are yapping about, all the 22KW OBCs have exactly the same internal parts. No difference whatsoever, from the first unit sold to the last one that Porsche centers all around the world are replacing on cars as of now.

There are different firmware versions, (with newer firmware versions) lowering single phase charging current. But this is not a solution, rather it's similar to putting a band-aid on a stab wound. It helps minimally!! (because OBCs with the new firmware keep blowing up - seen it myself)

If you think I'm wrong and you're right. Then congratulations... you're 100% right.... now stop bothering me will you, Sunshine?

You are really a champ.

Insulting the country neighboring to yours in case the lively local Taycan community would want to have their out-of-warranty recon Taycans fixed by your services maybe ?
Does not come across as very wise, but par for the course with the expression of your climate views ?

Oh, and maybe i am a european expat and your gratuitous insults sound ridiculous ? just maybe ?

Back to the topic: yes, indeed, you have no idea what i am yapping about, because you do not seem to grasp the industrial considerations behind the devices that you fix.

You simply cannot know whether there was any lot or source change to these MOSFETs.
Neither have you formulated a root cause.
You swap MOSFETs because you found one symptom. And something you have not seen can't exist.
You are just assuming that since you do not know of a PN change, nothing was ever changed to the 22kW OBC, ever. Now you can establish your creds by telling everyone how many OBCs you have fixed this way ?

Up to you if you want to continue to advertise for your business on such terms.

Oh my god……….. you understand nothing.

I have 6 pieces of the latest part number 22KW OBC charger opened in my garage (failed ones)

They are manufactured in 2024 and I’ve seen with my own eyes that the internals are exactly the same as 2020. Because I also got a shelf full of opened failed 2020 22KW chargers as well.

You have your own idea in your mind, just in your mind, cuz you’ve never seen an opened charger. And you keep trying to force this nonsensical idea like it’s true….
(Which is exactly what you do with climate change)

PS: I am not advertising for any business here, just offering my views. And offering most of my knowledge of most Taycan repairs for FREE for everyone to see .

I don’t need Malaysian customers to bring me their car to Bangkok because we already have partner shops in KL and JB that contact me for paid guidance repair, spare parts and online services. (Including OBC repair).
Of course they all are Chinese Malays, not nearly as arrogant as you guys, way easier to deal with.

all clear now?

So you could have started with that factoid, which i agree, gives more credence to your theory.

As I said they’re all Malay Chinese, and they think exactly the same as I do about Islam in Malaysia. Had that conversation with them many times. Often times started by themselves. You live in Malaysia but seem to not have a clue of Chinese culture.

What factoid? It’s you who looked for excuses to not believe my story cuz you are butthurt about my climate change views lmao… everything else is stated very clearly on the original post…. what a male Karen you are……

Being European, I assume you’re familiar with the Spanish novel Don Quixote?

There’s a line where he tells Sancho:

“Never mind the dogs barking along the way—if they bark it means we’re still moving forward”

So by all means, keep barking. It only confirms I’m ahead?

Good to see that lying dealerships is a thing across all switzerland and not just my dealership ?

Without your report, i would have never known they replaced my heater, because they denied doing it. I guess because the original never broke, but still...
During July, I had the same error three or four times, after charging (Ionity), but i was always able to drive back home. Next day, no errors…
i reported to the dealer, got appointment (on August 14); but last Thursday, red error (same message) appearedduring charging, about 4 minutes after charging started (it charged at 239 kw)
i locked the car, called assistance… it took about 30 minutes … then i just tried again (unlock the csr, start the engine)… and it worked; but with error in yellow.
Since i had enough SoC to the next Ionity, I cancelled assistance, drove about 120km and start charging again (from 13-80%)… when i finnished, same error message, but in yellow, so i drove back home (about 160km).
Next day, i’ve been called by a dealer, that i can come … and they found out that HEATER needs to be replaced…again. It was replaced about two years ago…and it’s been recalled again.
According to my dealer, heater caused that error, it also prevents charging (and driving, in case of red error).

To summarize: my 1st case in over 40 years on road, that i had to call assistance. With my best & most expencive car 🤦🏻‍♂️
I also spent more time on different failures than with other cars….alltogether. Charging units replaced twice, heater once before, don;t recall all other stuff… so i’m not comfortable with my car anymore. Luckily, we were alone with my wife, without granddaugters… imagine waiting hours, 250km away from home, during summer heat…or during night hours…

anyway, it’s quite possible that i’ll sell it back and take another one…if i’ll get fair deal.
Will see next Thursday, when/if i’ll get my car back.

Question to those who had PDCC: do you regret if you don’t have it anymore?

PDCC: Today I truly enjoyed PDCC the first time to full extent: I drove the highway through the mountains of Catalania in Northern Spain.
Going with speeds "slightly" above the 120 km/h limit.
This is exactly where the car gives peace and anti-nausea with PDCC, just plowing through like a train.
Would I opt for it just for that? If I have the money, always.
