Taycan goes randomly into Privacy Mode

My Taycan 4S goes randomly in Privacy mode for no apparent reason. I am not doing anything to put car the privacy mode. Or maybe I am doing something inadvertently --not sure. For example, I drove car for about 10 miles, came home, locked the car and now when I am trying to access car from "My Porsche", it says that car is in Privacy mode. Does anyone run in to this issue?

Quite common especially if you hit some bad mobile signal while using the app. The app reports the car is in privacy mode when it isn’t; service is not restored until you return to the car.
Suggest you report to Porsche each time it happens so they see this is annoying users. Shame your phone from side to side and a bug report screen appears.

Thanks. It is a plausible reason but I did not have My Porsche app open between the time when there was no issue and when I observed the issue. There are certainly multiple patches between work and home when cell signals are very weak. I will certainly start reporting the issue.

Could be due to a variety of reasons ranging from cell coverage as mentioned to Porsche performing work on My Porsche to a potential physical issue with your LTE module.

If it persists suggest to have you dealer Investigate.

Some known cures are the engineering 2 finger PCM reset, 12 volt battery disconnect to force a hard reboot (or pull the PCM fuse) amongst others.

Probably doesn't help solve your problem, but my app decided my car was in privacy mode when i set the widget up on my phone. Nothing had changed when i checked in the car.

Following day it was all good in the app, but the myporsche website thought it was in privacy mode.

Today both agree no privacy mode.

Happens about every 3-4 months for me and self resolves within a day or less.

Happened to me for the first time just yesterday. I went out and turned the car on, checked the privacy setting (it was not in privacy mode in the car) went back inside and the app was correct.

When the vehicle is in for service, the dealer typically puts it into privacy mode. At my last service, the dealer forgot to reset it. I had to go back in so they could make the change.

It seems I am not the only one running in to this issue. It is not only annoying but matter of inconvenience too as I can't access the vehicle and I won't know until I open the app and may be away form the vehicle.

My car showed as being in privacy mode recently, even though it was fine earlier in the day. The following morning, it still showed as being in privacy mode until I got into the vehicle and checked if it was in privacy mode, which it wasn't. Then when I checked the app, it was fine.

I've had this since the recall was applied to the car. Not every time and when I go to the car and sit in it, it seems to wake up and work fine ?‍
