Maybe reflects the style and quality of the source material?
Also the chosen settings- e.g. over-boosting frequency bands in the hope of gaining clarity is a recipe for frustration.
Personally, I'm indifferent to Taycan Bose- it's OK, but nothing special.
I would go as far as to say it seems to perform similar, or slightly better than the systems in my other recent cars (Harmon Kardon in BMW / B&O in Audi etc).

But like others, I don't overthink it when I'm driving. Its just there in the background and seems OK.

I don't get excited about hi-fi in a car. I dont want it on ridiculously loud when driving, as you need to concentrate. And I ain't going to sit in the driveway listening to it.

But at the same time I don't want it sounding like a 1970s transistor radio.

I am currently listening to music at home on a stereo where I would have to move the speakers one at a time in a Taycan, if one would fit at all and relaxing about whatever sound quality I will get in a car :)

Having had two Jaguars (F Pace and iPace) with height end Meridian systems as standard, I have witnessed good in car HiFi and now I have the bad :-( . I paid extra for the acoustic glass and went for small wheels to get the best acoustic experience. Should have gone for the Burmeister or basic.

Mine has Bose. I don't like it much. Feels quiet, although in an electric car and also my Audible books don't sound good at all.
I have the BOSE system. It sounds like crap. Yes, it has some volume and yes it comes from 14 speakers, but the tonal quality is junk with pretty much any type of music. Did you upgrade yours or leave it stock? I am looking to do something.

High-end audio in a CAR is ridiculous anyway.
C'mon...
Bose is good enough and it's especially build for the Taycan.
High end audio is very possible in a car and the BOSE system they put in the Taycan (or anywhere else for that matter) is not it. It is probably fine for most people, but as someone who has had many very good sounding systems with proper staging and everything, I do miss having good sound in the car and wish that the BOSE system did not make it so difficult to add on to (e.g., they have DSP that makes it difficult to get a clean signal that can be fed into an aftermarket amp).

Depends what you call high end audio!

My audio system at home cost more than my Taycan and I can assure you there is no car audio anywhere close.

The physical limitations of the relative locations of the listeners and the speaker drivers guarantees that the only way to get any localisation is to generate a fake soundscape using digital signal processing, and then only at one location, at all other seats the sound will be poor.

On top of that road noise is at lower frequencies and masks a lot of the music which means very inaccurate frequency response is necessary to hear much bass.

The difference between the standard audio system with neutral tone control settings and the Bose was small when I listened in stationary cars, mainly just the DSP faux surround.

Any system with the bass and treble boosted are not even remotely "high end" by definition, and that, IME, is common in car audio.

Thank you.
I was going to say something like that as well.
Bose vs Burmester is only a few thousand dollars so neither of them is HiFi, c'mon.
Besides, sound is like taste, it's very personal so you can't discuss it (but we still love doing it).

Switch off "linear" in the Bose system and it'll change the sound for the better.
But then again, sound is like taste, you can't discuss it. ?
