Just got a new 2022 Base Taycan last Friday with 2023 software (w/Spotify built in, colored icons) and experienced once freeze of both central and passenger displays after starting the car. Central display showed only "Porsche" logo and passenger display "Taycan" as they were booting up.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I just updated my car too and my display froze and went black as well for a minute or two. This has happened a couple of times. I was using CarPlay in each instance, so that might have something to do with it, but it’s anybody’s guess.

Mine (2022 year car) has done this once (a couple of weeks ago) since the ’big’ update. I’ve told the dealership and am keeping an eye on it. Hasn’t happened again (yet!).

Personally I didn't even get to do anything - just started the car and went driving, the displays never got started - except the backup camera did actually work in the central display ?

So this afternoon, my PCM screen went black and the spinning wheel of death endlessly spiraled without restoring the PCM’s interface. This went on for about 15 minutes until I got home. Prior to this event, I had trouble connecting to Apple CarPlay—an error message indicating “Connect to Bluetooth” kept popping up even though Bluetooth was indeed connected. Like others have posted, the cameras worked fine as I pulled into my garage.

We‘ll see if this self-resolves, but I’m going to take the car into Porsche service to see if they have any answers.

Same here.
(+ flickering, once; but not on the same day/drive)

Thanks to everybody - luckily, this wasn't only happening to me but unfortunately this is obviously a software bug that is appearing only in the latest 2022 software. Hopefully, Porsche gets this fixed as this requires us all to visit a dealership for software upgrades at some point.

Just for existing owners: if you don't really need to upgrade, maybe you should wait until more stable version gets released as this seems to have still some bugs around...

Happened to me a couple times since the update. Also, other gremlins such as no AppleMusic or Spotify sources would show up...another time the Internet radio was grayed out. I would just do the two finger reboot (two fingers held down in top right of upper right console for 2 seconds until it reboots. You sometimes have to guess where the actual sweet spot is and try again and again until it reboots)

I had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. I had to use the "two finger reboot" of the PCM to get it started again. I called my service manager and was told that the backup camera uses a separate computer from the rest of the PCM. He told me to let him know if I have the problem again.

One thing to note, you can use the 2 finger reboot while driving. If you’re in a safe spot or have a passenger then it’s fine to reboot while moving. It won’t effect the drivers instrument cluster at all.

Sorry to ask but what is "two finger reboot?" - something you can do if the PCM goes haywire?
