Hello all, This is my first time posting on the forum. I've been following the forum for a while. Unfortunately my first post is a nasty one.

I had an accident with my Taycan Turbo S and am wondering if the damage can be repaired. I ran into the back of a car and damaged the front of the Taycan. I'm worried about the chassis and the brakes. I braked really hard, but the weight of the Taycan was too much. The car did not stop in time. Airbags did not deploy.

What do you think? Can it be repaired? What do you think of the marks on the ceramic brakes? They looked like mirrors before, but now I see black streaks. Will that disappear again?

If the airbags didn't deploy then I don't think this is anything serious. New, bumper, new hood, possibly crash bar behind he bumper and you're good to go. I speculate less than $10k in damages, not enough to write it off.

Doesn’t look too bad to me plus no airbag.
With big brakes and tyres the weight probably wasn’t the problem if you braked hard enough to activate ABS.

I'm sure it will polish out!

If that's enough to write off a (bloody expensive) car, i'm going to stop buying cars!

Suspect insurance bill will be more like $20k than 10 though.

Good luck with it.

Thanks for your answers! Hopefully it doesn't turn out that bad.

I felt like the ABS was doing nothing and the car was skidding. But of course it also went super fast.

Do the brakes become reflective again after braking a few times?

If the carbon fibre lip was damaged – expect that to increase the repair bill – those parts are a bit expensive.

Did the car auto-break or assist you in anyway and do you have the relevant assistant systems active?

I think that I might have unchecked that box ?

Sometimes the car stopped for a biker although there was no real danger.

The front Carbon lip is damaged as well?

Hopefully not: glazed brakes don’t work very well and usually caused by frequent light use “polishing” them.
Properly bedded in composite brakes are a matt grey colour.

So these grey grooves are normal?
My last GT3 touring also had mirror like brakes… but I probably drive like a grandma ;)

I'm gonna guess $35,000+ in repairs. Older car but for significantly less damage (no hood damage, no wheel damage no suspension damage) the latest estimate to repair my wife's C250 was $13,000+. Her car was parked and the lady in a lifted truck with 35 inch tires just clipped the front bumper and ripped it off (drivers side). Very, very slight crimp in the drivers side fender and the 'real' bumper was bent a little. Saying this and looking at your pictures..............I would guess that $35,000 might be a little too low...........................

Yes, that's what the damage company thought too. It will be more than 35K euros

This is what I estimate needs to be replaced:
- Bumper including cameras
- Hood
- Carbon lip
- Right fender
- Matrix lights on both sides or only on the right side
- Plastic inside trunk
- Radiator as coolant was leaking
- Metal crash bar behind bumper
- Rim damage front right and rear right
- Scratches on the side of the entire car

I really hope that the car can be repaired as I really like the car and the current value of the car has dropped considerably so that I cannot buy a new one overnight.

Do you think that Porsche should carry out this repair itself or can it also be done by a damage company? I don't know if the Porsche dealer can do this.
