Try lifting yourself up using the handle above the door to reduce pressure on the leather?

I hadn’t seen that video before. Good one! I totally agree with his grievances and he articulates them well. Hopefully Porsche saw this!

Anyway, back to redrocket’s issue. I think I know why I have no problem while he does, and we are about the same height. I have found that I like my seat in a car much further forward than most people. I don’t know why, I guess I like to be sitting up more. Whenever I get in a car that another guy has been driving, I almost always move the seat up, even if he is considerably shorter than me. Rocket - could you live with moving the seat up further, so the pillar isn’t so much in the way?
Appreciate the tip and will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks much!

I use my left elbow and put it on the B-pillar.
That way you can "pull" yourself out.
My right hand is on the steering wheel.
Used together it's easy to get out.
Works great!
Thanks, I’ll try that too.

I’m almost your height (I’m 6’3”), and have absolutely no issues getting in or out of the car. Seems like something else is going on. Do you have a bad back? Anyway, sorry I can’t help you but I hope you work it out! Actually, one thing - would it help if you made the seat higher? Or adjusted some other way?
Back is fine. My problem is basically, I am very long and lanky. Never had any issues in my 991.2 GTS, but then it had a ‘normal’ B-Pillar.
And I do yoga, but with my particular frame, yoga is of no use for this car. I’ll try some of the other suggestions that have been offered, thanks guys.

I tried all of the tricks listed and this is the one that works for me. A little counterintuitive, maybe. I now have seat position 3 programmed to do this plus lift the steering wheel upward, inward, and out of the way. Will help a lot.

Having said that, a different B Pillar design would negate the need for any of this. Lots of gymnastics going on for a DD. Have never had this problem in any other car I have ever owned including a number of P-cars. For a number of reasons I’m happy I don’t still own my MS, but getting in/out of that car was a piece of cake in comparison.

I think it has to do with the rear door.
Because of the sporty and low roofline you need a door that is more fwd than a regular rear door.
I think it's a compromise they had to make instead of using the suicide door design of the Mission E.

Yeah it's this. If the B pillar was any further back it would have to be a 2+2. The back doors are fairly small as it is.

It’s the forward swooping lower part of the b pillar that’s the problem, not its general location. Take away the forward swoop of the lower third if it and the problem mostly goes away.

Left elbow on the B-pillar and right hand on the A-pillar (outside). It isn’t the most natural, but strangely it’s more comfortable than some other cars I’ve had. To be clear, it does suck, mounting my thigh over the bolster and coordinating a push / pull to lever myself out of my car (I’m 6’1” and thin, this isn’t a size or girth thing). I do love the car, this is one of my few irritations. Other than the not working Connect remote heat capability (ticket lodged, still waiting Porsche, meanwhile the temps are still dropping!).

I'm still not really getting this issue. I'm 60 years old, 6'3", in decent shape, but not particularly limber. When I get in the car, I put my right leg in, sit down, then pull my left leg in. When I get out, I put my left leg out, hook my left elbow against the B pillar, duck my head under the door, and stand up. Same as any car. The Taycan is a little lower than other cars I'm used to, but not to the point that I have to do any special gymnastics to enter or leave. All I can think of is that my seat position is such that it's easier. More forward (as mentioned above), and maybe higher too, than most people.

Go back and read post 21. I have never had an issue with getting in/out of a car other than a Triumph GT6 and this one. You just answered the question to the problem. Your seat is more forward than mine. Not all 6’+ people are built the same. I have a 36- 37” inseam. If I move my sear forward every time I get out of the car it’s not a problem, but that is not particularly practical for a daily driver. If my seat was way forward most of the time it would be a non issue.
