Just configuring up my spec for a GTS and lockdown is fast looming in a couple of weeks.

From what I’ve read most people are choosing leather rather than RaceTex?

Anyone gone all out and ticked the GTS interior package option?

Yes, I’ve gone for the standard Race-Tex finish. It’s not because I really wanted it, rather was unable to specify a non Race-Tex roof lining. Saying that, I’m sure it’s more in keeping with the GTS theme. Just hoping the steering wheel will stay clean?

I have a 2021 4S - took delivery in March of 2021. I ordered my car with Race Tex along with ventilated seats (part of the Premium package) and I wouldn't have my car any other way. I can't say why but Race Tex appealed to me as it 'breaks up' the interior with different textures. Just turned 5000 miles. Every day, and I mean every day, I am out for a run or walk and come back to the car pretty sweaty especially after a run. So far the car looks like the day that I picked it up. Steering wheel shows no wear or usage, and the same for the seats. Just my experience and I hope that his helps you in your decision making process. One more thing to consider. I optioned the 18 way seats versus the 14 way seats. and I wouldn't have it any other way. The seat and side bolsters clamp the driver in adding to the driving experience!

Thanks - made my mind up. Agree definitely breaks up the interior and gives it more texture. Doesn’t look like in the UK at least you can opt for ventilated seats with RaceTex.

I think the conflict is just the GTS interior, not race-tex generally. It’s the same in the US configurator.

Would definitely go Race Tex if I were getting the sedan as a personal car, but I've gone ST as a family wagon so it's got to be leather with children in and out etc...

AWharton,

Ordered a 2022 GTS Cherry Red Metallic in early December with a March allocation and May 2022 (hopefully) delivery. Build code PNSGX3X8. Went with Race-Tex interior as a few of my friends have reported it to be quite durable and more comfortable in the relatively hot climate we have here in Texas. I think it will work better with heated and ventilated seats.

Also went with PDCC Sport, Rear Axle Steering incl. Power Steering Plus. We don't plan to track this car but have some great country roads where we appreciate great handling. any thoughts on the performance upgrades? Overkill or is it the way to go?

Presumably May 2022 delivery?! :like:

I’m not sure you ‘need’ PDCC, but you may feel the benefit from time to time. I’m keen to try a car with and without PDCC, ideally at PEC Silverstone, to see how much difference it makes.

+1

Doing the same. We have two Taycans in order so will use first experience to test out pdcc to decide on my GTS with or without pdcc

Here in Italy it’s impossible to order ventilated seats with race Tex interior…very sad for this.

Racetex/alcantara is awesome. Doesn’t get ice cold in the winter or scorching hot in the summer. Also, an alcantara steering wheel is dead easy to keep clean and can be brought back to mint condition super easily. Unlike a leather steering wheel might I add. I have an alcantara steering wheel in my I-Pace and with a shoe brush and some water with a mild detergent I can quickly get it even nicer than when I got the car.

locked my GTS spec a few days ago. RaceTex all the way.

Thanks for the correction. Probably don't "need" PDCC but don't want to be without it!

I've ordered a GTS but I went full leather. I then optioned back in the racetex steering wheel to give it a GTS vibe and got GTS embossed on the centre arm rest, plus the roof lining is standard racetex on the GTS. I then added the carbon steering wheel and door trim packs. These carbon upgrades are cheaper on the GTS than any other model from some reason. Thanks Porsche!

A few reason I did this. I've gone mamba green and I think this colour doesn't really work with either red or crayon GTS interior packs. Also i really wanted interior accents painted in exterior colour to bring that lively colour inside to break up all the black. Plus I live the racetex seats, but all the racetex on the dash and centre just felt too much. So I have the free optional leather. It's actually the upgraded leather from the turbo and is quite a big jump up in price if you option it and the sports seats in your 4S, so I don't feel like I'm missing out financially either.

I really wanted deviated sticking in mamba too. But I just couldn't bring myself to pay £2500 for a different colour of cotton thread!

One thing to note is that if you option leather you cant have GTS embroidered into the headrest. I had to get the porsche crests. And for some weird reason, on the GTS you have to get all 4 seats done. Other models you can just get the 2 in the front. More weirdness.

Here's my build, delivery due late March 22:
