Hi folks,

I imagine the answer is 'as long as a piece of string'..... but any ideas about typical time between build-slot end and delivery?

I have a build-slot last week in November-first week December, wondering likelihood of delivery before Crimbo?

or as I suspect more likely New Year delivery?

cheers

I’m next in line for a turbo ct at Teeside and even now I’m told it may be this year if not early next year , so to be told you have a build slot make,my dealers even more slower than I thought originally

For clarity I placed my order in October 21

According to OPC Reading (for UK customers) - Taycan and Taycan4S have the longest lead times, then GTS.

Turbo and Turbo S have the shortest - I am assuming because of the high margins they command for Porsche , and probably the fewer orders in comparison (but the last bit is just my assumption)…

I watched this on YouTube the other day: it seems to indicate the Turbo model is the most rarest (at least that’s how I interpreted it) so that may explain longer wait times for build slots on that model.

Thanks guys - all good stuff - but can we please return to my original question? at least in part?

I have a confirmed build slot in last week Nov to first week December - So typically, how long from then to delivery. Likelihood to be handed over before or after Crimbo?

many thanks

Finished cars seem to get transported (by rail) to Emden right away, but I suppose the key factor is how long a car will be sitting there waiting for the next free berth on a ship (mine's been there 2 weeks now).
I think that a normal build duration is less than a week (even allowing for going for Exclusive Manufaktur fitting), so 1 week for that plus up to another week once your car is landed in the UK for it to be transported to your dealer and for them to then prep it, doesn't leave much time for it to catch a boat in time for you to take delivery before Christmas.

On the other hand, I noticed a recent post in the Delivery Delays thread "a build slot for your vehicle, early October which means you should be able to collect 21st October "!(Sheffield)

Thanks W - Very helpful - That is along the lines of my thinking too. Hope yours gets moving soon.

Cheers

When did you place your order? Who are you dealing with at Teeside. I'm about to place an order for a CT 4S with them.

My car got built at the beginning of December (2021). I can’t remember the date it completed. Maybe 12th. Got to the uk fairly quickly (before Christmas) but then sat at the port for ages because they all went home and didn’t process any cars over Christmas/new year. I ended up getting it on 11th January. It got to the dealer on 7th.
If you don’t get it before Christmas then it will be a week or two into January. Assuming nothing stops delivery like a missing part. Also depends if it catches a ship quickly or just misses it and waits a week or two for the next one.

If the planets align for you then you might hit lucky and get it for Christmas, but I would bet on early January.
