Taycan 4 was delivered about 42 hours ago. Today I was using the nav function and wanted to turn up the volume for the turn-by-turn audio. Later, after hooking up my iPhone I was listening to the podcast app I use on the phone via CarPlay and again wanted to increase the volume.

I couldn't find a way to adjust the audio volume. How can this not be a stupid question, I think, but here I am.

Also the left thumb wheel.

There are different volume settings for music, nav, and CarPlay. Adjust it while the one that you want to change is talking.
this! And don't worry, I had the same confusion on my first 3 days driving the car on a delivery road trip home. (didn't end up figuring this out until after my road trip!).

You can also push the thumb wheel in and it toggles mute/unmute.

The +/- button on the center console is for the passenger to control.

Lastly volume control applies to to "foreground" audio at the moment. So if the navigation voice is speaking, adjusting the volume knob affects just the navigation audio volume. Same as parking sensor volume. If in parking sensor mode, volume control is for parking chime. So this "foregound audio" concept applies to:

- media source
- navigation
- phone call
- parking
- Hey Porsche assistant

Also two fingers at once slide up or down anywhere on the lower centre console also do volume (doesn’t matter where you press).
Came here to say this….

I'm a two-finger swiper on the bottom screen. It's probably why my screen is always smudged, but I think it's easier.

Don't worry -- it took us a couple of days too (the dealer pointed out the steering wheel control, to be fair, but not the center screen buttons).

Congratulations on your purchase, you're going to love it!! I got mine in Jan and I've put over 5,000 miles in it!

Below is one of many excellent videos on many of the Taycan features.

Sometimes I wonder how some people can even live... and then someone asks how the volume changes... you can't believe it... what kind of crap is this guy selling to drive a Taycan?

Sometimes it's just wrong.
When I want to adjust the volume of the audio, it changes the nav volume (you can see the bleu arrow appear).
And it stays that way.
I found out that when you press voice command on the steering wheel and switch it off again, it'll return to the correct source: audio.
I think it has something to do with the start-up sequence when you power up the car.
Most of the time it's ok though, nothing serious and I found a way to get it corrected.

Good to know! Maybe I encountered something like that when I did try the left steering wheel thumbwheel and it didn't seem to have any effect.
