Hi everyone, today I received this ARB6 update to do and I would like to ask if anyone has already done it or appeared to someone to do it, is there any problem reported by anyone after doing this update ??? And I have an appointment for Monday to take my car to the Porsche dealership to do exactly this ARB6 recall. What I find strange is that this update appeared in the PCM today when last week I was at the dealership to schedule to do exactly this update. I think this is so that after the update I can charge my battery to 100%….

Can someone explain to me how this works? Will I have to do this update on the PCM, as this update is only to monitor the battery and on Monday when I leave the car at the porch they do the rest of what needs to be done. I leave it like that and they do everything at the porch on Monday... I honestly don't know what I should do.....???Can someone help me????

Forum search is your friend.
Tooney, I've already done a search on the forum and I actually found a lot of information about this update. I actually know what the relationship of this update is. What I don't know is what is or isn't correct to do in this situation... and the forum search doesn't tell me that with 100% certainty.

I had this update 2 weeks ago. Once done at home OTA, the warning notice asking to visit the dealer every 60 days or whatever as part of the recall disappeared on the app. Haven’t noticed any other issues. Range unaffected. All very straightfoward

Under ARB6 recall with 60 days controls and a limitation to charge max to 80% I received today in France the ARB6 OTA software upadte after 5 Kms driving

Installed in 7 minutes : good signal and 12v battery level needed
I will maintain my next control appointement scheduled for August 4th
I Hope this can help French owners

Update received this morning for the battery cell analysis – 4 minutes to install. Everything went smoothly. I don’t quite understand Porsche France’s logic, as I had received a letter stating I needed to book an appointment for the update. According to them, they needed to keep the Taycan for a full day :) :) :)

Why on earth aren't Porsche able to send the update out to everyone at the same time, rather than dripping it out randomly around the globe. They've had long enough to figure out how to send it surely, while trying to find some software for them to escape replacing everyone's battery. Frustrating as i'll have to take my car in next week for the 60 day monitoring. Oh and they want the car for 2 days ('but we'll try to do it in 1'). No courtesy car obviously as the problem is my fault and nothing to do with their quality control being off the chart awful. Still there is a lime bike bay just behind the garage, so i can get home.

Rant over.

So they don’t brick everyone’s Taycans at the same time. Just the few lucky unlucky Guinea Pigs that got it first:CWL:

My update just arrived and installed. Hooray.

Can i ask why you're still taking it in for the 'control appointment', which i'm guessing is the 60 day inspection?

I ask, as my car is booked in for its 60 day check next week and I was planning on cancelling it (no courtesy cars, hassle etc). Am i missing something?

Thanks

Edit:
I just phoned my dealer. They cancelled the appointment and said the recall is now cleared in their systems (and on my Porsche app), so there is no benefit.

Rob.

My update failed.
It no longer shows up as an available update either.
Maybe I need to go to the dealer who had a lot of unexplainable problems trying to read any data from my car at its first sevice so maybe a hardware fault somewhere.

In fact it’s difficult to have an appointment in August in France so I will keep this one in case of any issue with that new software.
It takes 1,5 H so I can wait there and do not need a courtesy but if necessary they always pay for a taxi to bring me back

I need my Taycan for a 911 trackday at Le Mans Porsche Expérience Center a few days later so let’s be all secure

It will also enable me to see what could be my next sport car (discussing about 2026 Taycan GTS or 911 GTS)

And at Bordeaux CP you always receive a good welcome with Lovely People

Fair enough. Mine is also hard to get an appointment, but they always ask for the car for 2 days, to hopefully complete in 1. Ie, they’ll do stuff when it suits them, not me!

As aside, when I cancelled they did tell me another recall campaign just launched - for a headlamp overheating issue/software update. So worth checking they can do that if required for more car.

Cheers.
