Is this normal.? Drove the car (2025 Taycan) in just a little rain. Got home and parked and all this water is now under the car

The car dispenses water from the battery cooling system (AC condenser); enough for someone in France once to try and tell me I was leaking "essence" (petrol) under my car.

It is normal, though unrelated to rain.

Driving an electric car is too dangerous when it is raining. Cause of electrocution.
The true story is Avis told me that I'm not allowed to wash the car because my rental was electric.

I ask them about the rain and driving. He never replied!!

Yes, the wheel wells are retaining water, and it drops later.

Both previous replies hold water......

When the AC runs the moisture from the atmosphere condenses on the pipes and components of the system and drips away through drains. You will see puddles or drips from cars in completely 'dry' conditions as a result.

Additionally; the undertrays and arch liners are made of a fibrous material that absorbs water; almost like a fabric. The covers dampen noise and are an attribute to the NVH of the car and one of the reasons the cars are so quiet. The trade off is the fabric gets waterlogged in normal use; when left, the water drips away until it the fabric dries completely.

Amazing they sell millions of these death-by-carwash devices.

I didn't know that about the wheel arch / undertray absorbing water.

Useful to know.
