What is the difference between 3885 and whatever preceded it (3882?) for MY20-24?4360 is latest for MY25
3885 is the latest for MY20-24
4578 is the version MY26 ships with. Maybe the other cars will be updated eventually to 4576, but I wouldn't bet on it.
I have noticed no difference in my car. What is the difference between 3885 and whatever preceded it (3882?) for MY20-24?
Is it being installed OTA? When did it get rolled out?I have noticed no difference in my car.
Seems it’s only purpose is addressing PCM freezing on porsche logo, log-in issues and other communication issues. No new functionality, or responsiveness improvement
Not OTA, no. Installed by dealers; there is no update campaign, it’s installed only if a customer complains about connectivity problems, porsche logo freeze, etcIs it being installed OTA? When did it get rolled out?
Here is the TSB for 3885 update @Tooney :Not OTA, no. Installed by dealers; there is no update campaign, it’s installed only if a customer complains about connectivity problems, porsche logo freeze, etc
There is a TSB about it; will look for it later when I can - the remedy of the TSB is to update to 3885 2020-2024 cars

I can confirm that will not be OTA (at least at present). My car is in for service now, and one problem is the stuck "Porsche" on booting up. Service advisor stated that the update to version 3885 is not being rolled out to all cars. As far as he knew there are no added features, it was simply to address the stuck screen. Is it being installed OTA? When did it get rolled out?
In earlier version of same TSB in Feb. 2024, the solution for Porsche logo freeze was to update to 3882.Not OTA, no. Installed by dealers; there is no update campaign, it’s installed only if a customer complains about connectivity problems, porsche logo freeze, etc
There is a TSB about it; will look for it later when I can - the remedy of the TSB is to update to 3885 2020-2024 cars
I agree, but possibly might have to disagree when I get my car back from servicing in a day or two. My SA tells me there were 8 software updates they were doing. I'm very curious to see what was involved. My only software complaint when booking it for service was an intermittent stuck "Porsche" when booting up. With minor/non-safety updates I kind of understand waiting until the car is in for service to avoid swamping the service bays. That said, OTA would be so much nicer for all parties. Some day maybe. The whole philosophy of "wait until the owners complain" before fixing an issue, just to save some money in the short term will be the end of Porsche.
