I have seen one like that recently that appears to come from Halfords. I wouldn’t use it… I bought a Disklok for occasional use. I think they are better than most of the physical locks

I have a disklok for my Defender, but only because the standard security can be defeated in seconds. I doubt I would use it in the Taycan, it weights quite a bit and would probably reduce the range by 10 miles!!

One of my best friends has just had his defender stolen in the drive way at home in north london...so I'd agree with that!

i was just wondering if some insurances offer "significant" discounts for use those locks or not

I doubt you would get a discount and I doubt anyone puts them on for every minute they are not in the car. I see they now do an angle grinder proof one to defeat the rise of the portable angle grinder

touch wood, I've not read about any Taycan thefts. I think Taycan security is good and stealing an EV must be difficult given its charging needs. There will not be much of a used parts market yet given most cars are still under warranty.

The only thefts I've noticed are headlights that are allegedly stolen for growing cannabis plants more efficiently -ECO conscious drug dealers, who'd have thought. A wheel lock won't stop this so I would not bother.

I think if organised crime wants your car they are going to get it, the deterrents help with low life criminals and opportunists. Interestingly my insurance premium for the Taycan is slightly less than the Defender, but when you add in the respective tracker costs (a cheap £60 p.a on the Defender) it swings the other way - but not by that much.
