Here is another way of looking at it. 1800 miles in 5 minutes is 21,600 miles per hour. That is more than fast enough to get into earth orbit. I am guessing that in order to get to those speeds you need a multi-stage rocket.

I would instead appreciate truely reliable 300 kW chargers at any time, without being restricted to 150 kW every now and than.

The need for charging 5-80 % in 5 minutes for me would be relevant maybe once or twice a year.

For the further-away future of e-mobilitiy with much higher number of travelling cars, it will be useful though, regarding the rate of vehicles being charged per hour.
Exactly. When the charger delivers even the 1.1 Taycan is plenty fast for me. The issue I have seen this year is large charge parks that throttle the chargers when busy. I stopped at a EnBW site near Neumünster last week. 24 of 28 outlets in use. They are supposed to be 150kW each when both plugs is used and 300 when only one. Cars consistently got 43! Luckily we stopped for breakfast anyway so timing was fine - But on our short stops it would have been quite annoying.

So rolling out infrastructure that can support all plugs at full speed would be more important for me than being able to charge faster when there is no one else at the chargers.

In this context, the following may certainly be of interest:

Car & Driver: 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Is Our New EV Fast-Charging Champion

"When charging from 10 to 90 percent, the Taycan Turbo GT averaged 213 kW (…) In fact, in the first 10 minutes of charging, the Taycan Turbo GT averaged a charging rate of 307 kW, increasing its state of charge to 65 percent, from just 10. (…) It took the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT just 24 minutes to go from 10 to 90 percent state of charge"

I saw over 201kw in Belgium yesterday - fastest I have seen. Usually around 120 - 150 on a 350KW charger.....

I am surprised you only have seen over 200 kW so seldom.

I had many charging stops on our trip from the South of France via Luxembourg, Germany and Denmark with full 260 kW speeds. Always with battery prepared at about 40 Celsius. But that was not too difficult since the outside temperature was 42 C! Putting the Taycan in Sport Plus mode a few kilometers before the charging stop seemed to control the battery temperature nicely. It sounded like a jet ready for take off, but never any issues with overheating.

We visited several Circle K stations with many 400 kW chargers. Around me at the moment I can also find about 10 -12 400 Kw chargers from Eviny! And Nio have a 500 kW charger beside one of their battery swap station here in Stockholm.
Interesting to see Taycan J1.2 at these stations and their rapid charging.

We also saw a Zeekr 7X charging at Circle K with a max charge rate at 402 kW! And their charge rate at 80% was still over 200 kW! The owner said the charging stops 15-80% were below 15 minutes!
