Just happened to me too. My Porsche dealer did the replacement for a cost of $3840. This included a wheel alignment of $590. I was told that Porsche required that prior to the calibration of the safety systems and cameras.
This is why some random glass shops, or Safelite won't be able to do the windshield replacement. Sure, they can install the windshield and calibrate the camera, but Porsche calls for other things to be done prior to calibration of the camera--which only the dealer can do.

Insurance should cover in full, or close to it, not some BS market rate.

I'm going through this right now....

So if all you did was get the camera calibrated, you got your windshield repaired incorrectly.

What a fun rabbit hole this has been. Insurance authorized just over $1k in repairs and estimated $45 per labor hour for replacement. lol.

Are you able to give me any more info on what Porsche requires for proper calibration? Hoping the local service center can better underline this as well.

In workshop manual WM 963855A1 Replacing Font Camera. There's a prerequisite in there before calibrating the front camera -->449503 Performing front and rear suspension alignment. If your local Safelite or non Porsche shop can do that, then kudos to them haha. Regardless, it's definitely going to be more than $45/labor.

My rear winshield was done 2 weeks ago. Total 4k between parts and labor (insulated glass so a bit more expensive). Insurance covered all but $500 deductible.
