I've received the 'Checking HV battery cell modules' letter today. My Taycan is MY 2022.

The letter includes this:

The prerequisite for this is that the online transmission of fault analysis logs is activated, the vehicle is not in Privacy mode and it must be connected to the internet at least every 30 days for a continuous period of 45 minutes.

Does anyone know how this relates to the Porsche Connect subscription? ie if you do not have the Porsche Connect subscription, the car will not connect to the internet? Or is an internet connection independent of having Connect?

Vehicle analysis data transfer is separate from/not dependent on Porsche Connect.

I believe car monitoring and uploading of diagnostic logs is a feature of the “Porsche Connect Care” service which is currently free to Taycan owners.

Thanks, I got the same letter and had the same question as I didn't renew the Porsche Connect Subscription for now as I don't feel any need for it at the price v using Carplay etc.

Thanks. Like you I didn’t renew the Connect subscription as I didn’t use most of what it provided. But I then found Octopus Intelligent charging stopped working as it required it to connect with the car.

Another Porsche tax!

My Octopus Intelligent Go works without the subscription to Connect. I just add the % charge I want to add (using the Octopus app) and it sorts the rest, with no settings on the car or Porsche app. Still trying to figure out if the WRS0 workshop campaign can be done without Connect subscription though!
