They simply told me that unless they can 'see' (or otherwise confirm) specific issues fixed by the 3885 upgrade, then they won't have authorisation to perform the upgrade. I explained I have frequest CarPlay dropouts, but that wasnt enough to satisfy them. Wasnt best pleased.
You'd think they'd want the "fleet" as close to the same software level across the board as possible to reduce ongoing complexity!

That's very 21st century type of thinking.
You have the wrong badge on the car for that type of thinking, that's more a BMW badge.

And that's probably not gonna change, since the new CEO is coming from McLaren, which has the same issue :D

I wanted to make the same point, but without naming another German (or even European) brand.

I told my Porsche dealership that I still occasionally get only the Porsche logo stuck on the PCM and eventually after I leave the car overnight the PCM starts working again. They upgraded my PCM to the latest (99% sure it will be 3885, but I don't have the car back yet) without any further conversation.

update installed which then led to lots of the built-in apps (news, calendar, weather. music etc) having an update available... can't say I use any of them apart from music!

no
Never got these messages in Switzerland.
Maybe an update related to the widespread navigation freezing issues in Europe.
I did the update over the weekend, it took me 2 attempts as it was saying 12v battery didn't have enough charge. It all seems stable since the update, although I can't really see any change yet to PCM response. Mine still is fairly slow with spinny wheels whenever I change sources. I'm in UK with 2022 CT Turbo.
If I see anything noticable I'll update here.
Hope that helps.

@Paul S do you have PCM v3885? I think real performance benefits will come with PCM updates, not OTA updates of built-in apps. Since it is a list, I think the impact of these updates is minimal and just to make sure it still connects to the Porsche servers coming years.

Without OTA software updates are ultra slow and painful endevaours at the service dealers. And the bad thing is the Service dealer is Kind of a relais in Communication adding nothing for the owner but more like a shield for Porsche.

As a software guy this backward thinking really hurts, especially when you have to deal with software issues for longer time spans.

I know from talking to my local Porsche service manager, one thing they really dislike about the software updates – other than how long and attended they are – is that they need to monitory the 12V voltage system very carefully during the update process and that tends to use up a valuable service bay.

PCM update 3885, per the service bulletin, is to be installed only if customer complains about PCM issues and they can be reproduced.
Porsche doesn’t want to pay a cent more than needed of service time
"Premium car brand". What a joke Porsche are.

Tesla make Porsche look like the flaky cheapskate old farts they are.

Then the Chinese car industry will dine on the bones of their hubris.

The funny thing is they could OTA this. MIB3 fully supports OTA and it is being updated OTA in many other VWAG cars.

On the MQB Evo platform they push them OTA. On Audi you can go to MyAudi and they have a tool that prepares a USB stick for you, which you can plug in.

All this is possible with Porsche also, just not being done.

Picked up the car at the dealership yesterday (regular 30k maintenance).
According the service representative they also did a software update. Now on PCM version 4360 and maps version P1460_EU_2025.11.
They also fixed the app sync
