If my car arrives at Emden on or before Friday (Nov 5th) , will I really need to wait 3 weeks for it to board a ship and then 2 more weeks for the ship to start its voyage. I am asking cause that is what TYD shows. 3 weeks to board a ship and then 2 more weeks for the ship voyage to start seems oddly long.

The Siem Confucius left today, will the next ship heading to the east coast really leave in 5 weeks???
Get the MarineTraffic app and track Siem Cicero. It appears to be near Emden and is estimated to be load ready week 45 so late this week into next. Temper your expectations though. My CT4 arrived at Emden 2 days before the Felicity Ace departed and then sat for 2+ weeks awaiting Siem Confuscius.

Most likely no. Of course there are exceptional cases with people waiting for weeks/months but I don’t think that is normal. My TYD showed arriving in Emden on the 5th and on a boat 11/26. The car arrived on 11/1, and made the Siem Confucius today, one day after arriving at Emden. If you arrive by Friday, I’d say chances are good you’ll be on the Siem Cicero, unless it’s not stopping at your arrival port.

That would be awesome. Then I can get delivery 1 or 2 weeks after Thanksgiving! I hope this happens, but I will temper my expectations.

Siem Confucius is 7th largest Ro Ro ship in the world, according to this video. Holds 4800 vehicles.

Calm seas and following winds...

Me too mate! Funny thing though, TYD shows entering port on 9/20??? To dealer and final delivery still show 12/17 and 12/24 respectively.
Same. My dates are all jacked up. Now that the ship is moving it will be easier to simply track it’s movements via GPS than rely on TYD.

Yeah, the map shows a solid line down in Mexico, with a dashed line back up to its final destination. I’m pretty sure it’s reflecting it’s previous voyage. According to Vessel Finder, it shows it last docked in Jacksonville on 9/20, the date my TYD shows for port arrival on this sailing.

My dates finally updated and now show the Siem Confucius arriving in Jacksonville port on 11/20. The map is not showing, so not sure if it’s accurate or still showing the boat in Mexico. My next steps for port processing, to my dealer, and delivery are still showing 12/10, 12/17, and 12/24 respectively. I see no reason why it will sit in port for 20 days, so hopefully that will update once it arrives in port and on a truck. My SA told me today he had a customer receive his car before TYD updated to reflect it was on the way to the dealer. It’s clearly not the most accurate tracking.

Thanks for the update - my timeline was just revised and is same as yours. Would imagine the later dates get updated once the ship is in port. Will be ecstatic if I am in my new car by Thanksgiving.

At this juncture, if the ship in TYD is correct then rely on the various other tools to track it and ignore TYD until it hits port.

Does anyone know how to track the Siem Confucius now that she’s out of radio range? Any satellite tracking I’ve found wants a healthy monthly charge to track her position.

I hope you are right, but something doesn’t look right, assuming that website’s position is correct. I took the lat/long to plot and measure her location from Davisville. As of last known position she was roughly 730NM SE of Davisville, near Bermuda. That’s far south of a route you’d expect her to be if heading to Davisville. It makes me wonder, because they had to divert south around TS Wanda, did they alter their port order, perhaps stopping in Jacksonville or Mexico first, then Davisville on her way back to Emden. Maybe I’m over thinking it and she will make a hard right turn soon. I don’t know maritime navigation, but I know navigation, and based on her position and track from that website, it has me scratching my head.

I noticed that too. It seems really far out of the way.
