Taycan 4S on order

As I mentioned previously, most of our dealership has covid, so even though our Taycan arrived on the 29th, I'm still waiting for delivery. Business manager finally reached out yesterday to ask me which of their value added services I want. I told him at this point I just want the car and I'm paying cash.

Curious if any of the rest of you Felicity Ace July production folks are actually sitting in your cars now and if so, was it worth the wait?

Hopefully you are still out and about enjoying the Taycan.

When you get back can you update us on the dealer experience. Supposed to pick mines up tomorrow and curious how the setup went and if I should do anything in advance.

Car was delivered in good order though without much, if any, fanfare. I’ve seen videos whereby the cars are unveiled under a cover. Alas I received none of that; my car was simply parked out front amongst other cars that were parked by customers.

We had a bit of an issue where, both, Apple CarPlay and Sirius XM didn’t work. The former was corrected after about an hour or so in their service bay while the latter issue still isn’t resolved and needs to be returned for further diagnosis.

All in all I’m glad this debacle is over. Good luck to those still waiting. I’m burnt out by this whole experience.

Interesting - so were you able to log in to your account? I’m looking to shorten my password and make it easier for that first login since I see alot people have issues with that.

As far as fanfare goes I feel most dealers are just doing the minimum at this point. I used to always get a couple branded hats/ key chains/ travel mugs etc thrown in but the last couple of cars I helped people get all that was gone.

Thanks for sharing enjoy the car in good health!

Yes, I pre-registered on My Porsche prior to going to the dealer and although my car was assigned to my account I couldn’t access any info because the car was in Privacy mode. Once the SA turned Privacy off in the car’s PCM all of the data populated in my phone app. I also looked at the light near the rear view mirror and I saw it was a solid green so I knew (from reading this forum) that the connection was made between my car and Porsche’s servers.

I agree with your assessment of the dealers re: minimum effort. I inquired as to whether PPF and tinting was an option at pickup and I was told I’d have to bring the car back when their detailer has availability. At that point why bother giving the dealer the business, and pay a premium, when I could simply drop the car off at the car detailing place myself?

All in all it went *relatively* smooth though my delivery took in excess of three hours. This was due to the issues related above. From what I gleaned from the Service Dept, appointments are running about 2 weeks behind, even without a loaner, so my Sirius issue won’t get resolved for a while.

Thanks for the good wishes. Good luck tomorrow.

She’s finally home! Dealer experience was great. Car was inside in the bay (starting pouring halfway through). Tech helped out and we got everything setup pretty quickly. Thanks to his knowledge and the knowledge I gained from this forum/YouTube over the last 6-7 months we were quickly able to fix the 2 issues we ran into.

Everything went well and I was on my way in under an hour I’d say.
Overall loving it so far- only got to drive about 20 miles today but went back out a little while ago and played with the settings and stuff. Will have more in the next couple of days I’m sure.
Heading back to the dealer to install clears and plate frame next week. They could have done it today but I couldn’t wait.

Time frame:

Order placed : May 31st
  • Freeze: June 16th
  • “Production Complete” email : July 26
  • Sat somewhere in the factory with no word until finally moving onto Emden on: Dec 11
  • Car made it to Davisville: Dec 26
  • At the dealer: Dec 29
  • Paperwork signed: Dec 30
  • Picked up: Jan 5

So about 7 months start to finish- felt alot worse since I got the production complete email and jumped right to ship speculation but then watched the TYD date move forward 2 weeks every 2 weeks or so.

Glad I could take the journey with you all- if there was no forum like this the wait would have been much worse! Good luck to all still waiting and safe driving to those who got their cars!
