In Scotland. Full charge showing range originally of 201 miles. However, as week went on, range dropped by 20% and only managed about 160 miles. Not especially cold (Scotland) at about 5-6 degrees Celsius. Just some advice if planning long journeys in UK

Do you use preconditioning timers? I'm also in Glasgow and noticed last few weeks the car uses about 3-5% of battery (if not plugged in) to warm the cabin and battery up each morning and evening, it is a range killer.

Nope . No timers. Car is garaged overnight so definitely warmer in there than outside though!

Which battery do you have - STD or PB+?

Cold weather and cold battery with AC on to warm the cabin is a range eater.

Normal for electric cars I’m afraid.
Yes was thinking that but more as warning to others, like me, who may be coming into first winter with an EV.
Does precool/heat whilst plugged in help with this or only for the first morning......I don't usually plug in every night

Hi Winge. PB plus . I tend to have the eco mode on all the time as not much call for AC requirements

I got caught out by this the other week, even being aware of it.

Previous week in cool conditions i did ~200 miles at normal motorway speeds. Then theprevious friday night when storm Arwen hit i was doing a similar journey and only managed ~150 despite being on cruise at 60-70mph for most of the journey to eak things out!

Unfortunately the freezing cold conditions and gales stitched me up, as i ended up not even being able to make it 160 miles to the rapid charging spot at Wigan, and had to stop at the Gridserve at Sandback Services, which had a queue and was only working at 30kWh anyway so took me over an hour of charging/waiting just to get another 30 miles to get to Wigan and again charge up, albeit this time at 120kW.

Yes it will help but needs to be daily but optional to charge.

preheating while plugged in will help, the car will not need to heat the cabin or battery when you first set off. Setup a 'timer' in connect app, just toggle charging off and precool/heat on.

Ta much. Will give that a go....however don't know about you but I find the app very inconsistent and not very accurate sometimes in telling me what SOC etc I'm at !
