If you want to put your mind at ease, think of it like this. What's the worst case scenario? The cars don't seem to have any widespread fire related issues, since you can really only find one case of it in Florida, which seemed to be related to the EVSE install rather than the car itself. If there's no widespread fires, the worst a consumer would have to deal with is a battery that degrades far faster than normal. If that's the case though, we have 8 year warranties on the battery, and I'd be happy to exercise that warranty several years down the line before I trade it in for something new.Agreed, but I have to say someone is concerned...
On Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, Porsche was confronted with various allegations regarding the Taycan in an article on teslarati.com. The allegations are currently being investigated. Please understand that we are currently unable to comment on this.
This is kind of worrying. Why couldent Porsche just instantly deny the rumor? They have to look into it- not what I would have expected.First public statement from Porsche here Whistle-blower report ignites Porsche investigation over its lithium-ion battery packs
This report is better written than either the Teslerati or the E for Electric video as it limits it to low speed AC charging, and not all that other stuff. This was referred to early on in the original thread but didn't get much traction. It appears it would not affect most of us who use Level 2 charging or Fast DC charging other than a few special cases.First public statement from Porsche here Whistle-blower report ignites Porsche investigation over its lithium-ion battery packs
Sounds like they are preparing for a legal case...First public statement from Porsche here Whistle-blower report ignites Porsche investigation over its lithium-ion battery packs
