This is exactly where I felt unsafe after test driving it.
Like spending a fortune and then not feeling safe while driving - because have to brake hard to stop from 100 to 0 if someone cuts through your way. Very dangerous.
Driving a Porsche is an interactive experience. If you want to be lazy and have one pedal driving then stick with Tesla. Porsche wants you to be engaged with driving. And because of this I will continue to buy their products.

My experience as a Porsche owner and club member since 1998: that number is a lot higher. I would estimate 20-40% of owners track or autocross their Porsches.
Not Taycans.

And not even GT3s are that high.

Please tell me you're just trolling now and you don’t really believe this.

All due respect it seems the OP wants the prestige of a Porsche with the driving experience of a Tesla (or something other than what he is feeling behind the wheel of a Taycan). I am personally surprised how much obsession there is over the regen feature in the Taycan. I am coming off both a 911S and a Tesla and I actually PREFER the Taycan over both in regards to this feature. Yes it took a day or two to get used to it, but the damn thing coasts forever but with auto-regen on, the car will slow down when approaching another vehicle. This is a GAME CHANGER for me because it makes driving so effortless (on top of countless other Porsche features which do the same, like RAS). If you don't want to put the effort into learning how to adapt, then you'll become extinct! Porsche is evolving and I've evolved along with it. If you are obsessing over this feature, you don't belong in this car. Period.

What I mean is - ONE PEDAL DRIVING - means when you lift the foot from accelerator - the car automatically starts to brake.
It would feel like my ride on mower, or a Tesla apparently, not a sports car with 1 pedal driving.
I tried it on a Jaguar I-Pace and it was spectacularly un-sports car like and I hated it, personally.
The way the Porsche accelerator and brake work is one of the best features of the car for drivers IMHO.

Taycan was the qualifier.
in my opinion the taycan and it's owners are not really suited for track days like the ICE porsches are.

precisely, porsches as a whole have never been for the mainstream driver, if someone wants a camry like EV experience the model 3 is the perfect car

Im going to showroom tomorrow - so I will try switching on the REGEN thing.
I hope it stays on forever, once I set it to on, unless I switch it off manually.

Like I hope the car remembers the settings, and doesnt want me to manually switch on every time I get into the car.

But first thing is to see, if thats really stopping the car, without wanting me to brake :D
On the Taycan the brake pedal operates the regeneration up to over 0.3G then blends in the discs and pads. For most conditions other than an emergency stop all the deceleration from the brake pedal will be from regeneration not pads on disc.
Are you sure a Taycan is the sort of car for you?

" While every Porsche is proven around the Nürburgring, this credential is particularly relevant for the new model as around 80 per cent of 911 GT3 customers also drive their cars on race tracks. " 991 GT3 full press pack
Marketing drivel and total nonsense, even if you count parade laps. The vast majority of Porsche sports cars never see the track. There is definitely a core segment of track day owners, but it’s still a relatively low percentage.

Sadly, not only do most GT3s never get tracked, most of them don’t even get driven extensively, but rather live most of their lives tucked away in garages under PPF and ceramic coatings, apparently to protect the car from something that might fall off a shelf.

RWD a turn off? Really? Did you give it a good hard drive? It drives and handles like a Porsche. 0-60 is the same as your LR3, but the RWD wakes up in the acceleration when going from 30-90. Never mind feels solid and tight. The RWD starts at $82k, that is not double the LR3 ($50-$56k). Heck at double a LR3 you can have a heck of a nicely optioned RWD. Yes the 4S is a fantastic car in-between the RWD and the Turbo, but it starts at $103,800 so that car is more in line with your "double the price" reference. If budget allows, by all means go for the 4s, but the RWD is a fantastic car and looks identical to the $200k+ TTS!

The electric sound is a nice option. Definitely can be heard with the radio on and I personally like it. I believe it is a tad louder in the cabin with the Sport Chrono (which I have) and I use it 100% of the time.

Porsche brakes are fantastic. Who wants to one pedal drive. Regen does slow the car when you take your foot off the accelerator, but no its not going to stop the car. You are supposed to be paying attention when driving so you do not hit the car in front.

And lastly, this ;):

You absolutely cannot compare a Tesla to a Taycan, one is electric that just happens to be a car the other is a Porsche that just happens to be electric. End of..

I also own a Tesla and a Taycan and I can confirm what others wrote here before: Initially I also disliked the coasting feature of the Taycan, but after getting used to it, I also start to like it.

One pedal driving is nice for city driving with a lot of start/stop. But I like the coasting feature of the Taycan at higher speeds, on the highway: It gives a more relaxed drive. You do not need to push the pedal exactly right to get a stable speed.

What would be nice would be a kind of 'adaptive regen': a high level of regen at low speeds but no regen at high speeds.
That would be a nice OTA software option !
