I have noticed Etron threads, there have been quite a lot, as my other car is an Etron 50(base ‘Technik’)
There seem to be quite a few
‘My other car is an Etron’ people!
Seems Etron owners get better advice here than the Etron forum.

Love the car. Totally not stressed about 160 mile range. Don’t do huge road trips. Use Taycan for that! Car goes about 10 miles a day!

Don’t think 50 is available in US as everyone so obsessed with range anxiety. You are missing out!

In UK the 50 is £11,000 less than the 55, the smaller battery losing only 30-40 miles range.

Makes the Taycan bigger battery seem an absolute BARGAIN at £4000.

Car is obviously no Taycan but was £40k cheaper than my 4S, (93 to 53) quieter and better specced by about £6000 in Taycan options! Seats, wheels, sounds, mirrors, charge ports, tyre sealer, charging cable, load divider, 5 seats and 8 years free servicing.

Audi UK paid for a podpoint at my home and they let me use it with the Taycan!
I also use the Audi cable for Taycan destination charges!
It should be every Taycan owners 2nd car!!

I had an etron and it was nice. Definitely a good value compared to the Taycan, but I would disagree on the glitchiness. Audi also has app and infotainment issues. Even in early 2021 you could get etrons at a big discount.

I sold mine to the Ford dealer when my Bronco came in. It was just a question of utility since we needed an off-roader. Now Ken Block is pumping up the etron as an off-road capable vehicle but I know that he tows it. With all the crap that he’s put on there and the places he’s going there’s no way he’s driving from where he lives in Park City.

Started out electric with '19 etron Prestige, great car more options than my RWD Taycan but needed the sports sedan to round out my driving experience. I like having both cars and have done long distance roadtrips with each one. Because the charging stops are so far apart here in US both cars perform about the same on the highway, in terms of the number of stops, despite the longer range of the Taycan.

We bought a new e-tron a couple months ago. It’s our first EV. It motivated my wife to decode she’s ready to upgrade her daily driver to a Taycan…whenever an allocation becomes available. Hopefully we’ll get it within a year or less.

Look through this website for available Taycans:

I found mine 600 miles away, flew up to the dealer and drove it back home.
Lucky had no issues with the car. Only had to wait a month.

I just picked up my second Taycan (GTS) and couldn't be happier. We recently had a '22 Audi etron Sportback in the family for a couple of weeks. Great looking (Navarra blue), and super comfortable. Unfortunately, the Audi app was never working. No way to pre-cool/heat (important in SoCal), but more importantly unable to charge the car publicly. If you visit etron forums, you will discover this is "normal". Not acceptable. We sold the car back to Audi and got the BMW i4 M50 - never an issue with app connectivity so far!!!! Car is a beauty, and drives fantastically well! Goodbye Audi. PS - my 2020 R8 V10 was a disaster of issues as well. Porsche Taycan Turbo saved me! Just TRY calling Audi for support...wait time 3hrs... "why are you calling again - we will let you know if we find the problem". Also, the service advisor at the local dealer, let us know -" it's Audi, what do you expect."

Thanks for the suggestion. We're in no rush to buy, with three other perfectly serviceable cars, and I think spending this amount of money on a car shouldn't involve compromising. This will be our first Porsche.

I can understand your frustration with app connectivity, though ours has worked flawlessly - except for it taking a couple of weeks to get my wife added as a user initially.

I'm surprised you had an issue charging in public. We nearly always fly if we need to travel more than a couple hundred miles, but there are numerous EA 150kWh chargers along the US East Coast. 99% of our charging is done at home.

The availability of chargers is not the problem (though they really are too sparse). The E-tron came with 1250kWh of free charging after complaining (normally 250kWh). We wanted to use it, even though our home has a 20kW solar array that provides (after 12 years) basically free charging.
My issue was/is that we were unable to use the advertised services due to issues with the app. The app sucks. My Porsche app is slow, but never fails. The new BMW app has zero issues with connectivity! This is an Audi problem. For us, the main issue is not being able to pre-cool the car in SoCal. Charging is secondary, but for many I'm sure not being able to charge is a serious issue.

Sorry you're having a problem with the free charging and the Audi app. On occasion the app doesn't connect and update the car's status right away if I'm not with the car which can be annoying. That said, although I've only tried to use the free Electrify American charging 6 or 7 times that feature has always worked.

I just picked up a 22’ sportback this afternoon. I plan to live with it as my daily driver until my STGTS arrives. Initially supposed to arrive in late September of this year, but I’m thinking a 23’ delivery is likely after all of the distribution and supply issues. It is definitely not a sports car!

I'm thinking the very same but one final swansong with a filthy, dirrrrty, obnoxious V6 in a Jag f type convertible.

Hired one the other day and absolutely loved it. Sounds absolutely incredible. Drives very fun. Was almost laughing out loud at points during my very spirited drive.

Would tide me over until the GTS ST arrives in possibly 12 months.

This is kinda relevant to me…. My current cars and E-Tron whilst I wait another 18 months (hopefully….) for the GTS ST to be delivered!!

I got the E-Tron in July 20 - pretty base 50 Technik. It has been a very frustrating car to get used to (really, really poor range, terrible app connectivity, random technical glitches in the car) - however as a first EV for me after 8 years of V8 ownership it was always going to be a challenge!!
I’d recommend anyone who has one to ensure they get the latest software update (the one related to range) - had mine done 3 weeks ago and it’s increased the potential range by around 20-30 miles on full charge - granted this has also been helped by the UK being a little warmer too, but I’ve noticed significant differences since the update.

I still won’t be sorry to see it go tho ?

Make sure if you get the Jaaaag it comes with the right specification.
The slipper warmer, pipe holder and gold plated disabled parking badge clip
will make it much easier to sell to the usual Jaguar owner demographic when
the Taycan arrives!
I am much pleased to read in another thread that you are going Race-Tex
so its a 'proper' GTS!
I dont understand a GTS with leather, veg cutters or Mission Es and carbon body kit
May as well spec a 4S this way and save 20k
Why de-GTS a GTS?
Also GTS needs to be a bright colour or all the unique black detailing is lost
in a Darth Vader cloaking device.

I completely understand you points - The range is crap
I think its the least efficient car (except the heavier 55) on the entire market
We have had a better time than you though.
Didnt ever connect Apps and the only fault ever is the parking brake last week
which has not inconvenienced us in the slightest.
We love our 50 Technik as we normally never go far - 10,000 miles in 2 yrs
2 long trips took a bit of planning but it charges fast and all went ok.
Perfect 2nd car to the Taycan - definitely not a substitute for.
Its perfectly quick enough in every real world circumstance.
Launch Control, that is only available on the 55, is pointless on this style of car.
It still leaps off the line like a scalded cat if you boot it with the electric torque and 4WD.
It is an absolute bargain if the range doesnt stress you.

As far as I am aware the increased range update was for the Etron 55 only - not the 50
Its going in for the parking brake next week I will check.
It might just be the warmer weather that gave you the better range!?
