You're doing better than me.

Until very recently, I always called Scotland 'Greater England'.

You live and you learn... You live. And. You. Learn.

?‍♂

(To the other posters, can we get back to car talk please?)
“. . . than I”. ?

Can this thread be renamed:

Please bicker here

I have never seen a thread like it. Some have even been banned for merely expressing an opinion, but treated as though they were denying the Holocaust.

There is a lot of negative energy in this thread ?

Why did you reply with this?
That was intended as a mild joke, as we were getting off into a discussion of the proper way to refer to Ukraine, and a poster, in reply and, for emphasis, no doubt, used the F bomb. As it turns out, the F bomb, itself, is changing in affect, if not meaning, creeping into the popular vernacular, as demonstrated by the Wikipedia reference. I, thus, intended indirectly to indicate we were beginning to veer off strictly Taycan topics. That’s all. Trying to joke on forums can be hazardous.

Haha forum jokes are indeed hard - maybe I need more coffee. No worries

So I have an update (sort of)
My order is still unallocated but I'm apparently 2nd in line for next allocation slot so we looking end-2022 for this with possible deliver End Jan 2023
MILES away from when expected initially but I'll now check out Onto and ElmoDrive to cover me over for the rest of 2022

My experience so far has been that with no allocation, there is no timeline really. I've been on few CT Turbo waiting lists for a year now, ranging from #1 to #3 on the list. The place where I was #3 actually got one, so I moved to #2, but then Porsche merged sedan and CT allocations, therefore the wait lists merged, which resulted in me being #3 again. A year ago, I had some dealers tell me stories, ranging from allocation in October, delivery Q1 2022, to allocation by end of the year, delivery Q2 2022. None of them turned out to be based on anything other than wishful thinking. At least some of the dealers were brutally honest - "we have no allocations, have no clue when we will get them, nobody trades allocations anymore, but we'll put you on the list" - I appreciated their honesty. The current situation seems unchanged - nobody knows anything about allocation timelines, though I did have one dealer try to take me for $15K "pre-paid ADM" just to get on the wait list for an allocation :CWL: I suspect with the economic cool down happening now, by the time I do get an allocation, I'll be in a position to negotiate a discount.

My above experience is in the USA, perhaps other from around your location had better experience with dealers predictions for allocations in the last year?

Why not just get the sport turismo?

The arches are definitely ugh.
The GtS does look fantastic but i value the extra ride height of the cross, plus i would swap a lot of the race tex out.
Coming from a Macan I would like to keep the off road aspect to some degree.

Different continent here, but for the first time I did not see a single Taycan in the showroom last week.

I'm going to guess that during COVID lockdowns the USA shortage had to do with difficulties shipping to the other side of the "pond". Today the difficulties are more on the production side, so perhaps we are all in the same "boat" now? ;)

We are indeed. Shipping is not the problem besides the extremely high costs. The showroom was full with all porsche ICE models, just no Taycans. On the other hand, I see a lot of Taycans on the road, they are very popular! I guess it's simply a supply demand problem.
