Ionity Stafford - Rapid Charging Station

I believe the Ionity charging station in Stafford UK (just off the M6 at junction 14) is now open. Just wondering if anyone has tried charging their Taycan there yet and your experiences? Also if it accepts the Porsche charging card to benefit from the reduced rate? It's a great location between North & South and only half a mile from junction 16 with a Starbucks on site.

Stopped by the other day on my way back north great stop tbh i didn’t have my Porsche card but the AP connected perfectly and once the costa is open it is perfect ? my battery was a bit cold or I guess it would be charging faster

Thanks Ken, seems you paid full price of £0.69 per kW, think it's around half that with the Porsche charging card, hope someone's tried using the Porsche card and can let us know if it worked and how much it cost.

I will be using it tomorrow morning around 7.00am for a quick boost on my way to Falmouth. I will let you know how I get on with my Porsche charging card. Then on to the one at cullompton services and thankfully a destination charger at my hotel after my meeting!

Also good to hear how it goes at Cullompton, I've read variable reports. Gridserve at Exeter Services J30 gets good reports for very fast charging but twice the price as Porsche subscription to Ionity

Hi Simon, I wasn't aware that the Porsche charging card didn't work with Gridserve. May have to contact my dealer to ask for a list of supported charging networks.

I think it only works on the chargers that show up in the My Porsche App but not 100% certain. Gridserve is tap and pay with a credit card

The dealers in my experience having got a clue on the charging network. When I purchased mine he told me there was no such thing as a Porsche charging card that would come with the car. There used to be two apps you can use and one was just called ‘charging’ that had all the chargers you could use, get discounts on and there location. It stopped working recently and now says it’s integrated into our ‘my Porsche app’ all I can find is this

I have no problems using the new MyPorsche app for charging. I am not a fan of the new app compared to the old Connect app plus the Charging app, but ir certainly works for me. In France, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.

In the MyPorsche app just click on the Map icon when you are at the charging station.

And once the map is shown click on the Charger icon which brings up the chargers. Once there just start the scanner circled in black. It is all there but you need to get used to it.

Do you have plug and charge set up? If so, I think you should have paid the reduced rate. Probably worth knowing for the future as well as getting a few quid back. If you just swiped your credit card then tough luck i guess.

Suggest you contact: [email protected] to find out if you're set up properly to get the discounted rates.

I'd add they weren't very keen to (didn't) give me money back when they charged ££ usage time at a porsche 350kw that only gave 50kwhs.

Hi - I used it a couple of weekends ago - the Starbucks wasn’t finished yet but chargers worked ok and charged fast!
