Calling bs on that, go back to them and ask to speak to sales manager, that’s info easily shared.
I agree with that.

Telling you where you are in the queue is different to giving you the names, addresses, dates of birth and sexual orientation of the other people ahead of you.

Giving you a number in the queue is not GDPR. Otherwise every call centre wouid be in breach when you are on hold in a queue and they tell you what number you are.

Got an update from my dealer - car not left Sheerness as yet (it’s been there 2 weeks!) and third in the line to get on a transporter.

Then they transport it to READING, offload it and then send over night to West London.

I’m still hopeful that i can collect on Friday but dealer is off from Saturday so next collection would be Tuesday next week which is going to be really hard with my work commitments (plus i need my wife to drive me to the centre!).

Will have another update on Thursday on the progress so fingers crossed…
How frustrating!! Hope you get it on Friday. I ordered at Reading so at least that might save me 24 hours when it eventually arrives.

Thanks

I’m happy to collect from Reading from a completely different person!

Don’t hold your breath, i think it’s only going to reading first as they have more cars on that load. It could easily be the other way round and go to London first.

I think the dealer is just being cautious so i am optimistic.

Ah that's true. West London is closer to home than Reading and my office is 200m from Mayfair but decided to test drive af Reading , there are no fixed speed cameras between Reading and Newbury ? The SA I dealt with got good reviews from others so I stuck with him and he got me an allocation within 3 weeks of ordering.

Wow. Did you have to disclose your sexual orientation when you bought your car??

Just been informed my end of September delivery has slipped to November, supposedly an issue with supply of the 12v battery systems.

If Russia turn the taps off or severely disrupt supply, after summer, that will no doubt be the end of any remaining 2022 orders. Mind you that would be the least of our first world worries.

Coal is coming to the rescue, and carbon capture means it doesn't have to be "dirty".

It will be politically unacceptable in Germany to have anything seriously hurt their manufacturing, so just wait for that coal to start burning.

Germany has assured everyone that burning coal is just "temporary"...

Would it be a one for one replacement though - ie not just electricity generation required but for gas used for industrial scale heating and directly in manufacturing? Watch this space I guess…

Early Jan ‘22 order, supposed build in July. Not even had an allocation yet, and now been informed that leasing company will pass on all the price increases and to ping them a new Porsche code for them to produce a revised agreement.
Step 1 - try and remove £2k worth of extras
Step 2 - hope that RVs will be higher to absorb some of the increase
Step 3 - wait for them to say it will be a Q1 ‘23 delivery, best case
Step 4 - cancel and buy another V8 7 seater while the automotive world finds a way to get back to normal

That's a lot of steps that culminates in you owning a V8 7 seater.

There's no fun in that. Stick with the Taycan. We all expected price increases.

This is direct from a Porsche owned dealer email to me earlier today regarding price increases:

"[our dealership] would only be able to honour the base price if the customer has been allocated a build slot before the cut-off date which was the 15th of July 22.

... current lead time [for a GTS ST] is estimated to be 2024."

You will likely get a build slot in Q4 or early Q1. Price increases happen every July.

You only need to take the hit for £1.5-2k. If you are financing that's less than £100 extra each month on a 24 month term.

Stick with the Taycan and be patient.

My end of July delivery is now end of September. Battery fire. Car is built but with no battery ?

Nearly all July deliveries where the car was build in last 3 weeks say this online but apparently its a placeholder 8 week delay. Might be sooner but Porsche don't seem to have sorted alternative supply yet. Clearly some cars will trickle through. Defo worth demanding more information.

Another update! My sales guy emailed me today! My car is at Nottingham Porsche! I'll see if I can get a photo tomorrow. Only picked up the email an hour ago. Been hectic with work. Aiming to pick it up next week! Can't believe it! I mean it's only been 14 months!
